Old and New Neriak, Dark Elves, and information surrounding the Teir'Dal race-help.

I'm an avid roleplayer who has never played a dark elf.  I know some of the lore but I'm having trouble finding some concrete things about Neriak's sealing and the forcing of Dark Elves to Freeport. What exactly happened when Neriak was "sealed"?  Were ALL the Dark Elves forced out or what?  Or were they forced out at a later time? How old would a dark elf have to be to have left Neriak when he or all the dark elves were forced out to go to Freeport and come back now, with it reopened?  Saying he was around 100 years old when he was forced out. These questions are a bit basic, I know, but I can't really find a good set of info on all of this.  I know a little bit about the War of the Fay, but how exactly did the Dark Elven defeat effect them? I'm writing my character's biography and this stuff is rather important-I don't want to contradict this sort of common knowledge lore.

He intentionally gave us all amnesia so we dont remember who we were, where we were, or what we were doing before Captain Vargas (Darathar) pulled us out of the waters and sent us to the Isles of Refuge.</p>

Given that there were a number of Dark Elves living outside of Neriak in EQL, not to mention the armies that fled the field when the Faydark was lost, I've always imagined that pre-Neriak (EQ2) Dark Elves were either survivors of the War of the Fay, or their descendents, or the descendents of the Teir that lived in Freeport or other areas (such as Kunark, sailing between Freeport and the Overthere) prior to the Sundering and the Shattering.  I could be mistaken as I'm not yet familiar with a lot of the EQ2 lore and timeline, but I believe the War of the Fay was some 500 years ago (from the current EQ2 date)?  If so, based on the age tables they provided from the EQ RPG, it wouldn't be possible to have been a survivor of the war (by their numbers) if this is the case, but the child or grandchild would work.

The War of the Fay took place sometime between 500 years ago and now, that much is certain. I forget, which side were the Tier'Dal/Thexians on during the Rallosian War? And doesn't the Rallosian War take place not long after the War of the Fay?

They came up through the southern deserts. They would have had to go through Freeport first before they could get to Nektulos forest.

I'm fairly sure that Neriak was sealed before the 2nd Rallosian War started, so they weren't involved at all.  Of course, some Dark Elves were probably living in Freeport at that time, so they probably fought in it, like everyone else.
