I wish the map were bigger. I wish I could resize the map, however big or small I wanted. I wish there were an overlay map (Like in Star Wars Galaxies). As it stands right now, I'm constantly fighting to see points of reference on my map. Perhaps I'm half blind, but I would enjoy a map that I could re-size.

That's an 'eq2map is hella-cluttered' issue moreso than it is an issue with the actual game POIs. The actual in-game POIs are very, very widely spread out. Oh, and there are a lot of issues with map stretching (POIs in the wrong spots, fog not working correctly, etc) as-is, so it'd probably take a form of "Map Revamp" to make an option... though all things considered, could be a cool change, esp. if they're making bigger zones in RoK.

They said they'll be making changes to the map system if I remember correctly....they announced it as the same time as RoK, but it's a separate project from the expansion. Perhaps this is one of the things they're working on?

I've been asking for a new map system since the EoF Beta. Mostly when i Was in the Eof Beta forums but a few times here. The just pasted a little Fadwer on the map its not even close to scale and people should have been able to see it if its really that close to freeport. And if anything it should be farther away because in Lore the watters were too treacherous to pass and it musta be a big distance cuz when im in CL and look at the ocean its still as it can be. And i should be able to see something in the distance if it in deed is as close as the map depicts. I think the whole May system needs to be reqorked have a system like we have now of world and zone but I think there needs to be area maps too and the ability to zoom in closer on some maps. And also have a new maping system where when your looking at the world map you can scrool over to differt parts of the world and have them drawn to scale and have them as far apart as the actualy should be. Once you have this be able to click the contenatn and get a closer look at it closer and closer then maybe once your so close you can see a zone and then you can see the zone but be able to do this from what ever zone you are in I think that would be a nice edition. Think Google Earth ... cept Google Norrath. I think that would be a fun addition to the maps but not on as detaled a scale google earth is but something similar where you can see the world and zoom into it or zome out and see things to scale as they should be.

EQ2 is suposed to be a lot newer then most of the other games i played like anarchy online and swg, yet it lacks basic map features that these all provided hehe. As i recall when i played AO, it had 2 maps. A world map and a mini map. Both maps allowed you to set a point of interest, then resize the window, drag the map around inside the window, having it scroll through. That point of interest would still be there flashing and waiting for you. If anything i would prefer the map smaller becuase it really hides a lot of my view (i really need a mini map). People have tried to alter the EQ2MAP mod so it supported a mini map but i really didn't care for it. I don't expect to have a radar that scans the area around you for players and mobs, just a simple little map.

Speaking of maps... it would be really neat to see some added functionality ALA EQ1 added to it. Like your own labels and what not.

I'm running eq2 maps and my maps are cut off in most zones I cant see the bottom inch or so of the window it's just gone and some times it alot wider then it should be but part of its invisble and i cant click change perspective when im on this "invible" part of the map window. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so how do you correct it.

But back to the topic i really hope the may system is revamped soon it really needs a face lift. I think it would be pretty awesome if they do what I proposed a few posts eariler in this topic. Like haveing a map system almost like Google Earth but have it Google Nortah where we can look at the planet in scale and soom in to conteants/reagons/ zones/ areas of zones.

I say just get rid of the maps. Thus, problem solved.
