When I stopped my XP I had the delusion that all my xp gains would stop. I did this as a way to experience the tier of content without out leveling it. It didnt take long for my bubble to burst. Doing the quest in those tiers still leveled my toon and continues to do so.

I stopped xp gains about 5 months ago and am no where near wanting to accomplish what I wanted to because I keep outleveling areas. Killing myself into 5% debt a night got old quick.

Can we please have a way to stop any and all adventure xp? Please...

This is another one of those fine topics that rears its head every month or so. Guess what, it has been this way for over two years now so just get used to it. Pretty soon we will have someone else starting a thread saying there isn't enough to do. So I guess they can't make everyone happy. So do everyone a favor, just enjoy the game. If you really want to experience all the content of each tier then you could either start an alt or you can mentor someone of like mind who is of the level you need to be at to experience the content. That is one of the reasons they introduced mentoring.

If you really are just looking to "experience the tier of content", it doesn't matter if you outlevel it. You can do all the grey quests you want in a tier, there's no upper limit on getting them. Sure, there won't be much challenge involved in doing a bunch of level 20 quests at level 30, but you can still experience them.

I've found that I too out level quests that I'm trying to get to. I'd enjoy the ability to turn off quest XP and would do so in a heart beat.

[I cannot control my vocabulary] AA's...

Actually, I can control my vocabulary. What I can't control is a drconain language filter..

gee golly gee wiz

If you want to keep your XP on, thats your choice, if I want to turn mine off, that should be mine. Simple thing called balance. You get to play your way, I get to play mine without anyone being hurt in the middle.

I mean there is so much to do in this game and a lot of the quest give little to no rewards in regards of value. While I am a long time RP er I understand to want to be ingrossed in content alot of the quest have nothing to do with the lore. If anything I make it a point to stick to the quest that offer background on the world and delete those that say kill x unless the reward is worth it.

I made it my goal to do as many quests as I can and I'm having trouble with outleveling content before I can get to it as well. There are ~50 quests each in the outdoor zones and by the time I do all of those even with XP off I've had trouble finishing some content before it was grey. I don't even get a chance to see half the dungeons doing this although I plan to get around this by mentoring for those.

I'd like the ability to turn off discovery and/or quest experience. It is silly when I don't want to accept a group invite to a new zone because I know the discovery xp will grey out several of my quests.

Yes, I've chosen an odd way to play but I find it enjoyable and having the ability to turn off xp would be helpful for people like me without hurting anyone who didn't chose to use it.

I am one of the minority I guess that likes to do everything in game. I am engrossed not only by the game itself but by the technology and logic behind it (yes, I am a programmer as well). It's interesting to me to start at the beginning and see how the thoughts of the devs progress through out the lifecycle of the game.

Another reason is the accomplishment freak in me. Did I mention I like to do everything in the game?? I want to finish all the quests in the game, regardless of how mundane or one off some of them seem. It ensures I get the maximum enjoyment and game play for my investment. While so many others are clamoring for the next expansion I am still working through a lot of older content and truly refining some things in the game.

Another reason - although completely not necessary I am trying to build a set of all the master spells for this toon at every level not just the high tier and top end gear as well for each tier. Again, just because I want to see if I can. I want to know how many times I have to kill Varsoon before he will actually drop my class spell. Its become a contest within our guild. We mentor down to a lower level alt and all go skipping to ROV to clear the zone and kill Varsoon. The contest is to see what class in this group will actually get a usable drop from Varsoon first. 3 months, 4 classes, the prize is still unclaimed. I get a kick out of people saying they are fully mastered when what they really when is they have their T7 masters and the lower ones that didnt upgrade in T7. I have yet to meet anyone in game that has every single master spell for their toon. I want to see if its possible to achieve such a feat.

Along that note, yes, I wish they allowed multi-classing on the crafting side. Even if you had to level to 70 in a class before starting another one, then to 70 and start another. I would do them on a single toon because thats how I would like to play it. I dont like switching toons around. I have my friend list, accomplishments, etc on my primary toon and thats where I want to play. I may be in the minority, I realize that. There are a lot of other hard core players that just want to go through a zone, hit the good stuff and go play another game until an expansion comes out. I want to see how long its goes to take to actually do everything in this game.

Thats just my playstyle I guess but you asked so there is the best reason I can muster...

On many occasions i find myself outleveling quests. Sometimes they offer really good gear and jewelry too, but by the time i finish it, I've looted better stuff...

I think the mentoring yourself idea will solve alot of players content consumption problems. Add to the thread http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=365895 I don't like to turn my xp off because although I'm a complete everything type of person also I like to progress more. An option though to go to any stage of the life you've had so far means levels no longer become something to be feared but just an indication of how many possibilities you can have.

Agreed. I suggested the same idea months ago though and for the farming reasons eventually got shot to bits. Everyone is so afraid of farming it's sickening. If everyone is farming you cant make money off of it anyway, thats the caveat to it. The hardcore players dont want anyone else having something they dont have regardless of the effort someone else puts into it and the casual players really dont care because they benefit from it. If a bunch of 70 toons want to farm T1 stuff the market will get flooded with the items and drive the prices down making items that would normally not be available to many players not only available but inexpensive BUT really not worht the time to farm (the exception to this is when the low level items are needed by higher level toons - ie transmuting fodder and raws for tinkering, then the prices go through the roof because higher level toons have the money to buy them and low levels do not).

Look at T7 items now - there are typically so many of them they are considered cheap in a relative perspective. Consider the amount of money most T7 players have amassed and then look at the prices for T7 items on the broker. Reason - the best in game items for T7 are no-trade anyway (with the exception of a few rare masters which go for 100p+). Perfect case in point, last night I got 2 T7 masters - thought woohoo! I wont the lottery, found out they were going for about 20-25g each, same price as the Varsoon master level stuff...Its all about supply and demand.

Don't T7 masters sell for more than 20gold to the vendor? On Guk server, I've never seen a T7 master go for less than 1.5plat and those usually get picked up by transmuters for fabled adornments....
