It's still speculation, but anyone taking odds on whether illusionists are getting the nerf bat? Smart money says yes (agility AA line).

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=366382

Zebsen

The few cases where an achievement received a reduction were made to balance out a penalizing equipment requirement that was removed as part of the update. These 2 snippits sugest that nothing will happen with agi line. They are "slightly nerfing" some aa lines that have their equipment requirement removed. They may not remove the requirement for the symbol. Considering a symbol a shield they wouldnt remove the require for shields and ranged weps. We shall see tho. Wonder how it will be like to see the beefed up other aa lines. *EDIT* My guess is that they will be beefing up Str and Sta line. Sta line more than Str line just cause Str is popular (at least some points) for PVP and it could overbalance that tree for PVP. We shall see tho.

My fear is that if they remove the "open slot" requirement for the secondary slot (and thus allowing us to equip something there) will have a trade-off with regards to how much this line will speed up casting/recasting/etc. Allowing us to equip something that could potentially have a spell proc or something else could offset this...

It's speculation, but I'm thinking nerf. Maybe I'm wrong.

Zebsen

Enchanter

Strength 3 - Spellblade's Reflexes: Increased piercing skill bonus, increased Riposte percentage to 1% per rank.

Strength 4 - Quickening: Added melee attack speed bonus of 5% per rank, but does not apply to 2-handed weapons.

Agility 2 - Chronosiphoning: Removed freehand requirement. The amount of casting speed returned is reduced to a 1:2 ratio from what is debuffed.

Agility 3 - Chronomotion: Increased recovery speed bonus from 4% to 6% per rank.

Agility 5 - Perpetuality: Fixed ability so that only one triggering effect is on the enchanter at any time. The color of the perpetuality icon becomes "warmer" the higher the casting speed bonus granted from the proc.

Stamina 2 - Touch of Empathy: Increased range from 5 to 30m.

Stamina 3 - Empathic Aura: Increased healing critical to 2% per rank.

Stamina 4 - Empathic Soothing: Increased hate reduction to 1% per rank.

Stamina 5 - Sever Empathy: Renamed Sever Hate: Now it wipes a few hate positions of hatred that target ally's enemy has towards them. Can be used on raid allies.

Wisdom 2 - Daydream: Now it reduces hate radius and the chance that the encounter will respond to help.

Wisdom 4 - Dreamweaver's Trance: Also improves reuse speed of your mesmerization spell by 0.2 seconds per rank.

Wisdom 5 - Hypnosis: Reduced power cost and casting time. It can affect a weaker epic non-named target for up to 6 seconds.

Taken from...http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=366605 Not sure what to make of their description on perpetuality. Fixed ability so that only one triggering effect is on the enchanter at any time. Hrm.

Fixed ability so that only one triggering effect is on the enchanter at any time. Hrm.
I means what it says. Instead of having 5 icons show up in the maintained and effects window, 1 will show up and will turn colors based on how many procs of it we have going. Looks like Chronosiphoning got the nerfbat by half. Lame. I will never understand the obsession of SOE to "fix" what isnt broken, but leave stuff that is obviously broken unfixed

Agility 5 - Perpetuality: Sounds to me like that was only a UI change -- not a nerf. Instead of (up to) 5 spell effect icons appearing only 1 does but it has 5 "levels" as represented by colors.

Agility 2 - Chronosiphoning: Our casting speed bonus was reduced (by half) but considering how fast Chronomancers can cast relative to any other caster it should not be a big deal. The ability to use our secondary slot is a big deal.

Agility 3 - Chronomotion: Even faster recovery speed, what's not to like?

Looks like Perpetuality will be a cosmetic change on the UI

Chronosiphoning nerfed

Looks like I will probably just change how many points i have in each row, maybe reduce number of points in spell recovery and add some back in to passive spell haste

Wow to the sta line changes, grats MT group coercers.

And grats to the non-dps-raiding illusionists that use wis line, Dreamweaver's Trance will now reduce mez recast by a second and a half, very nice.

I asked Lockeye whether it was intentional that Chronosiphoning removed the free offhand requirement but it was still needed for Perpetuality, and he replied, "The fix for this one is scheduled for later this week." So I think that's good news.

Altho i am not going to get the end line for wis it does look more appealing. A charm that works on EPICS. Sure its only 6 seconds but HELL its a charm that works on epics and takes no conc. Faster casting and low power cost to boot. Imay start using daydream also..... lower agro range spell is good (just hope not high resist rate).

I did some testing last night in an hof pickup raid.....i did not use chronosiphoning at all and was still able to pars 2k-2.5k witch is perty normal for me...i dont see this nerf realy effecting us that much..to tell you the truth i consider enchanters lucky that we didnt get hit harder.

Dulamar

70 illusionist Forsaken

Lucin

I agree that with just the Chronosiponing change we would survive without too much drop in our dps. But I don't think the nerfing is finished yet:

WAPCE wrote:

I asked Lockeye whether it was intentional that Chronosiphoning removed the free offhand requirement but it was still needed for Perpetuality, and he replied, "The fix for this one is scheduled for later this week." Now that will destroy our dps.

The change to perpetuality is NOT a cosmetic change in the UI. It has nothing to do with the UI. All it means is that instead of having the first buff reapply itself and add another one, it simply applies a different buff which has more spell haste, and a different icon. The "levels" just mean that the different images for the buffs just get brighter but look the same, not that the same image is being made brighter.

If they did nothing else other than increase Daydream to, say, 30 seconds, I would go back to the WIS tree and never leave it again. The way it is now, a 16 second charm (when it lasts the full 16 seconds) is almost useless.

A 6 second charm for non-boss epics becomes nothing more than a quick stun (somewhat useful).

Mana free fast cast 6 second charm. So if your fast enough you can send it to attack the mob flip back to your pet when it wears off it has a 1 second mez on the mob giving you enough time to stun then daze for a nice little combo. (For epics that is) longer for heroics.

Instead of casting several buffs on top of each other like it does now, when you cast a spell, the script goes...

If buff #1 is up, then drop it and cast buff #2

If buff #2 is up, then drop it and cast buff #3

etc
