I just love the items I have in my home from Christmas and Valentine's day "events"! I know this isn't the name but knew I would butcher the spelling if I tried to go from memory here

The fireplaces, snowglobes and food from Christmas and the Flowers and candy from Valentine's day add SOO much to my home(s)! Yes I know we have fireplaces now - but at that time these were the only ones!

The food/flower items were never added into the tradeskill recipes and are still unique -

What is next that we can look forward to?

I think "halloween" is the next one and you have awhile for that one yet.

That's because there really is only 4 international holidays to celibrate. Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween, and the winter holidays combined together as one.

Well, Halloween is probably the next holiday event, but we may very likely have a storyline Live Event sometime during the summer. If I remember correctly, the last storyline event we had was the Return of the Gods event leading up to EoF.

It'd be nice to have a "Harvest Festival" type thing for late summer to fill in the gap.

St Patricks day is international? isnt that an oxymoron?

I do wish the devs made up their own major events instead of using ones from the real world, and especially didnt use quite the obvious symbols that are rather out of place like candy canes.. especially damned candy canes...

Same. Those nowadays-like events bring me to other mmos. I'm looking for one. I was desapointed with LotRo: poor classes, clone races. I hope they will upgrade that and don't run some modern-style event too. I'm happy EQ2 is a very good mmo, but I don't want being remembered our commercial real life when playing. shaunfletcher wrote:

St Patricks day is international? isnt that an oxymoron?

I do wish the devs made up their own major events instead of using ones from the real world, and especially didnt use quite the obvious symbols that are rather out of place like candy canes.. especially damned candy canes...

There should be other events this summer. Lots of players actually go outside and ignore the game during the summer months anyway. (Aussies don't count)

There will probably be a couple of events in the run-up to RoK as well. I would expect there to be some events related to the new Gods in RoK before they actually appear. The run-up to the reappearnce of the gods with EoF was extensive time-wise.

Would be interesting if instead of real world holidays they used celebrations from Ancient times or myths. Baachus festivals were all about drinking and debauchery so I guess Brell Day is close but there should be better costuming and held within the cities not contested areas.

What about the Olympic Games? Why cant there be quest series which are timed or group competitions (first one to finish wins? They could be started by NPCs within the cities). Round robin tournaments could be held which would pit the winners against each other to get to the final winners per city or server or whatever allowing them to obtain a title, house reward item of magnificent status (similar to gold, silver, bronze medals). perhaps the libraries in each city could hold books chronicling the annual games and what competitors won which events (a little posterity in the game). You could almost use the arenas to host these with a little revamping.

The items were very nice actually. The Mithaniel Marr one was a spear you hang on your wall with the ability to right click for a HP buff. Approx 500 hps at level 70 for one hour. The Quellious one was a pool that buffed power for a similar amount. The Rallos Zek one is a gong that buffs haste by 13% I think. Solusek Ro was a little hand statue thing with a fire ball in the middle that would buff heat resist. Brell's is a miners pick that buffs tradeskills. Etc, etc. It's kind of a shame those quests are temporary since the rewards were so nice and the quests were cool too. Like Soluseks quest was in lavastorm in the same instance used for maiden's gulch. You had to solve a little puzzle and then walk across a bridge of fire.
