View Full Version : "Attune" window
Can we get an option to turn off the window that asks if we want to attune an item whenever we equip something that's unattuned? I've got several items (mostly robes) I like to wear for the look and want to be able to trade them to other characters, but there's always that risk of clicking the wrong option and it's stuck with me. I suppose it's a useful feature for some people (although the big red message on the screen is enough for me), so can we add a toggle for this?
I buy alot of gear and sell it back instantly because it's incredibly ugly when I put it on lol.. when you equip something, just hit the ESC key on your keyboard.. the "attune window" should be the top window when it pops up, so that will just close that window out. It's still a bit of a pain, but not terrible.. and ESC makes it fast to get rid of. It also takes care of accidentally clicking the wrong option.. since you won't have to click anything! That's what I do anyway.. I know it's not a great answer, but it's all I got! <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p><b>/agree on the request for a toggle for the Attune Window. </b></p><p>I /feedback'd this the first day it went live. This Auto Function is only useful to newbs to the games. Veterans of the Game KNOW to attune an item. We aren't that stupid. </p><p>---- </p><p>It might not be annoying to most people but I collect A LOT of armor that I am never going to actually use. </p><p>I do the visual references for the EQ2traders for the Crafted Armor. Not to mention the dozen(+) of other references for zone armor I have in progress. </p><p>I put the armor on / take a pix / take armor off / put new armor on / take pix / take armor off .. repeat ad nausum .. </p><p>It's fustrating to have to carefully click the 'cancel' option so I don't have a wasted Rare/Treasured/Legendary item on a character that isn't going to actually use it. </p><p>Which is what I did with a Legendary Cloth Sleeves on my Bard by accident one day when I was in a rush. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>--- </p><p>Please give us a toggle for this function!</p>

if 99% of players equip it to use it, and 1% to take pics, the way it works is going to be the one most relevant to the 99%. makes sense no?

Agreed, I'd like to also have a toggle command to turn this off and pop up window. It wouldn't seem like to hard to do I would think /shrug

I don't want it removed (more features are better than fewer), but an option needs to be added for those who don't want the popup. There's toggles for pretty much everything else - why not this?

This sounds like a good idea. Heres a example of how it could work. Options > User Interface > Inventory > Show Attune window when equipping items [X] And to balance it out, Be default it will be checked. XD

<p>An option to turn it off would be handy, if it is "unchecked" then a reminder like when you are too low in a group could pop up "Warning - Some of your equipment is not attuned etc"</p><p>Better than the BAM in your face window.</p>

There's a big red message that pops up, like for quest updates, something like "Your gear is not attuned". The window is useful for quickly equipping and attuning new items, but there's also the risk of attuning something you meant to trade.
Oh yes! I want to turn that thing OFF! Its redundant in my opinion because when you have an unattuned item on you have the warning right on your screen. 90% of the stuff I put on I don't attune right away, if at all. I shop for look as much as utility, since most things I can buy look like crap they get stuck back on the broker. So please please please... Make it so I can get rid of that POP UP! There needs to be a grace period with attuned items to unattune them! Though that most likely wont ever happen.

The dressing room feature will negate a lot of this debate. Having said that the OP suggested she wears the things for looks around town etc. I dont see why there shouldn't be an option to turn that window off.
