View Full Version : melees x1 vs nuke x2 =/

ok  just hit 20 today with my mystic =D so far 8 AAs 1 AA = Pet 2,3,4 AA = Chilling Strike line  5 AA = Feverish Strike 6,7,8  AA = Enhance Ursine With ursine + buffs i have around 100 str aprox (dont remember exactly) but the main problem with melees aas is the LONG recast.... sometimes i think i can make more DPS nuking x2  since takes the same time that the same Melee AA =/ Will be better to just nuke until Melee crit?  Upgrading the melee AA ranks ? =/ but upgradin ranks is =/ +10-20 dmg for 1 AA? <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> btw enjoying the class a lot <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> soloing and grouping is a blast <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> thanks <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>I happened to hit 20 on my Mystic yeterday as well. I have 11 AA's and went 3 Chilling Strike, 3 Feverish Strike, 3 Circle of the Ancients, and 2 Enhance Ursine.</p><p>Having the extra attack with Circle of the Ancients is big. It hits for big damage and makes the recharge on the other 2 seem less painful. Not to mention its AOE delicious.</p>

The recast with the CA's is the same as the recast from the spells.   They are on the same timer.

They are on the same timer, but if you only used the spell, the recast is about 3 seconds compared to 8 for the CA using Chilling Strike as an example. If you use the CA version it forces the 8 second recharge on the spell. You can open with a ranged version of chilling stirke and have it come back in 3 seconds to use again quickly in melee.

Thats right. You get the CA before the spell. I had it with my 7th AA point.

Cast Time+Refresh on Spell Roughly=Recast on CA, or should be that way. Keep in mind the CA is .5 second cast time, basically instantaneous. The right build will give you kickass auto attack damage, which the CA's lend themselves very well to as well. Not to mentioon 100% melee crit is HUGE when added onto the CA's Basically, the CA's are, by themselves, roughly equal DPS as far as I understand it. Supplemented with other AA's? Much better.

I picked up all the CAs just so I didn't have to spend any more coin on upgrading my combat spells. 100% criticals is very nice (I immediately jumped to AGI line right after I got my CAs) so you're basically critical-ing with everything (including the DoT portions of your CAs).
