I am getting ready to make a hydra around the release of RoK. Those of you who do run hydras know the typical build (Tank, Healer, Scout, and a few magi). I am looking for ideas on a different type of hydra. One that uses the arts and spells of the other characters at a min (except in raids of course). It would be like soloing with a tank that is supported with the other characters buffs. What other classes would be useful? I am looking for classes that add resistances, stats, reprisal damage shielding, and stackable in-combat health/power reg. Since my current main is a Fury, I know that Furies get a in-combat health reg (group) and a in-combat power reg (single grouped target). One would think multiple healers would add some serious in-combat health reg. It would not eliminate the need for healing spells during battle, but would temper most NPCs' ability to take down a tank. Hydra enthusiasts give me your thoughts. Hydra detractors do not even bother.

What are you talking about? Do you mean multi-boxing?

Yes Multiboxing. A hydra has many heads but one body. I don't have the hardware to multibox so dont have first hand info just opinions. I always saw a fury as one of the harder healers to box due to them being reactive healers rather than proactive. They heal after the damage is taken rather than before the damage like clerics or shamans. Fury is alas the only healer class that gets a group incombat health regen. The shaman classes (not sure which one) add a replenishing ward which is pretty sweet. A bard would be nice. I would go with a troub if you plan to use a crusader as tank or a dirge if you go a brawler or warrior tank. A chanter is nice buffage too. I have boxed regularly with both a illusionist and a coercer. A coercer is much more powerful at locking targets and control with their charm spell. An illusionist is much better at buffing and forgetting as they can bring some really nice dps buffs. Illusionist end line AA abilities are the bomb. I would go with a brawler class or SK as tank so if the [Removed for Content] hits the fan you have the ability to FD and with a priest rez item you can rez the group. Lastly need to add a bit more dps so go with the normal big hitter 1-target mage. A wizard. So Monk, Fury, Mystic, Illus, Dirge, Wizard High buff group. Ward on the pull. Do most of the dps with the Monk and switch over to the wizard to queue in a few big nukes.
