I am only a lvl 15 wizard and see the term "nuke" used quite a bit in the forums. What is the nuke spell? Where I am now I see plasma burst being my biggest "nuke".. Am I wrong and missing something here? What constitutes a nuke? Which types, DD, AEDD?

I'll answer this seriously. It's a generic term for casting your spells. This term is always tied with mages, scouts don't nuke. Wizzy's tend to have the highest single target spells in the game. Lots of pretty particle effect graphics and tons of damage, just like a nuclear bomb. If someone says "Nuke that mob down!". They are asking you to cast your big spell really quick and "burn it down". Also amougst the mage wizzy's tend to have the big one hitters and fire based spells so thats why the term nuke is usually tied with wizards and not necros or illusionists.

Basically, when 'nuke' is used as a verb, it's as the above poster said, casting your damage spells. When used as a noun, nukes are usually your direct damage spells. I suppose that can include the AoE DD spells, but I personally use it as a refferance to single-target DDs only. As a wizard, your nukes are the -Strike line (Plasmastrike, Flamestrike, Sunstrike, etc), the Fireball line (Ball of Fire, Incineration, Lava, etc), and at level 50, the Ice Comet line (Ice Comet and Ice Nova).
