For all deities, you have to sacrifice treasured or better gear at the altar to gain faction... doesn't matter what kind of gear or what deity it is; they're all the same in that regard.

All that notrade stuff is good to start with or any attuned stuff your sick of ... But you will get alot of Favor just from completeing all the quests ... It will tell you how much favor an item will give before you actually sacrifice it ... just drag and drop from inventory to offering window.
