Has anyone succeeded at taking one out of a Nek Forest owlbear nest, and into another instance without it vanishing from your inventory? And are the eggs acquired from the quest at the Wanderlust Faire egg vendor any different that you can zone with those? Thanks.

I'm not sure why you'd want to zone with one. Do they do something? If you insect the egg, if it can go no further than Nektulos Forest it will say "NO ZONE" on it. I never tried to zone with the "fresh eggs" you need for the owlbear quest because there is no zoning required when doing that part of the quest. G'luck though whatever it is you're doing.

Well, when you hatch it, it is supposed to summon a young maturing owlbear pet. That is what confuses me, if it summons a pet, when why can't it zone? Is this possiby a bug that has been overlooked?

They aren't bugged, they're for a level 25 quest you get in Darklight Wood for a baby owlbear pet.

Ok, for anyone else who might have wondered the same, here is what you do for an owlbear egg, the aged eggs in the nests are not the eggs you want... I did the quest myself finally and it's really rather simple, just need to be leveled enough to fight off baddies of course, and lots of patience with searching for quest NPC's. You must talk to the egg vendor at Wanderlust Faire in Darklight Wood, which is connected to Nek Forest. Off you go to find his daughter, who was supposed to return with more eggs to sell but hasn't, he wants you to check on her. Once you locate the daughter, she gives you an item to help you obtain several fresh eggs (NOT the nest eggs), from adult female owlbears. This includes performing a mating dance, owlbear style LOL. Lastly, you take the eggs back to the vendor for her, and make sure you have a couple of Gold on hand because the ingrate does not give you your very own egg, you have to buy it... Also, make good use of the griffon towers if you can, it will save you quite a bit of hoofing it over the terrain lol!

Also your *temporary*pet will be merely a level one, but you should not have to fight off anything other than possibly other amorous female owlbears, one at a time is sufficient...
