I'm wanting to switch between using Walk the Plank and Torporous Strike. TS is set up, but my old WtP macro doesn't work. I have 3 steps for it: 1) equip rapier 2) equip 2ndary 3) use WtP

Do I need to have some unequip step? Thanks.

EDIT: looks like you have to wiat 2 seconds to re-equip weapons after unequipping them in battle?!! This means you can't switch weapons on-the-fly to use the related AA...booo

i have my raiper on a hot bar as well as my main weap and i can switch mid fight easy enough without a 2sec delay dont unequip just switch via the hot bars

probably isnt much help but i dont think you can do it with two weapons while in combat because theres a 1 or 2 second delay between weapon equip.. my /equip valdoons vampric rapier /usea walk the plank works fine for my walk the plank macro

i solo a lot, i dont use a macro for walk the plank and have no probs. when i want walk the plank i hit my domerage on the hot bar WtP and get in 2 back attacks then go back to chel's shard via the hot bar and get in an auto attack right away.

Okay, thanks for reminding about using the hotbar to switch weapons. Already had weapons on the hotbar. Let me re-state what I want to do a little more clearly. I dual wield when PvPing. I'm working on STR/AGI AAs. I have Torporous Strike and Walk the Plank on the hotbar, bank 2. My weapon hot keys are on bank 5. Let's say I'm jumped, and have my sword in my primary, my rapier in offhand. I immediately use TS, then want to switch the rapier and sword around so that I can then use Walk the Plank in the fight. Is this possible in combat? When not in combat, I can switch weapons 2 ways: 1) Use the mouse to point & right-click the weapons to unequip them. Then hotbar the weapons back in switched hands. I don't like to use the mouse. And this is a lot of separate actions, too time and energy consuming, and distracting during PvP. 2) Using the hotbar, I can click in my one-hander, which automatically unequips the off hand as well. Then I can quickly hotbar in the new DW weap combo. This works fast enough when not engaged. Will have to check during PVP. Or am I just missing the boat here and overlooking some really simple way to do all this>?

How do the "equip" macros work for items that are already equipped? Using the new macro system with explicit locations for equipment, could you just make two macros: Equip Rapier of Uberness - Primary Equip Sword of Win - Secondary and Equip Sword of Win - Primary Equip Rapier of Uberness - Secondary ... would hitting these two macros in series switch the weapons back and forth, or do the "equip" commands only pull stuff from your packs?

The solution was simple and staring me straight in the face. Macro: Unfriendly Walk 1) equip Rapier 2) Walk the Plank 3) Unfriendly Reminder Macro: Torporous Strike 1) equip Sword 2) Torporous Strike The 2 second weapon delay is a non-issue. When you switch weapons, you can use it right away. There is only a 2 second cooldown if you immediately try equipping another weapon after equipping the first one.

A bonus from spending time figuring how to best maximize macros gave me this series of macros. They are grouped by recast timers. In other words, a 10s recast CA is macro'd with another 10s recast CA, while the 20s recasts are grped together, etc. Macro: Swipe Undercut (10s recast) 1) /autoattack on 2) Playful Swipe 3) Undercut Macro: Flurry Snap (30s) 1) /autoattack on 2) Flurry of Arms 3) Snap of the Wrist Macro: HO chain (20s) 1) /autoattack on 2) Lucky Break 3) Neutralize 4) Flashy Trick Macro: Poke Divert (20s) 1) /autoattack on 2) Poke 3) Divert Macro: Mezz (60s) 1) /autoattack OFF 2) Disarming Grin The amazing thing I had previously overlooked was that I only used Shanghai as a Mob combat opener. But being on a 10sec recast timer, Shanghai, if chained, has the highest DPS of any other CA. Not to mention its stun/throwback/blur, great for PvP. The trick in trying to use this as often as possible is to pair it up with some type of stealth, which is so obvious to me now that I see others using it and on the videos. Macro: Shanghai Sneak (10s recast) 1) /autoattack OFF 2) Sneak 3) Shanghai 4) /autoattack on Macro: Cheap Sneak (20s recast) 1) /autoattack OFF 2) Cheap Shot 3) Sneak .... then followed by a manual Shanghai Macro: Low Shanghai (60s recast) 1) /autoattack OFF 2) Stay Low 3) Shanghai 4) /autoattack on Alternating these as often as possible keeps the DPS and stuns going nearly nonstop, at least in theory. In practice, Sneak sometimes unsneaks before Shanghai can get executed.

jaraman not sure if this is your problem with shanghai, but its the only ca we have that cant be qued up even if your casting sneak or the deaggro that puts us in stealth. i used to break stealth and not the attack in myself now i just spam the skill so it fires then go back to my regular cycle.
