Im a newby player on pk server and its very frustrating getting owned over and over again ok u can say go play on a rp server but i think a good game needs an option to attack someone if i want to i think the problem is u can kill over and over again without any consequenses in my opinion they created a mindless forced pvp where strong players just wack weaker one of the first things i missed in the game is a jail or somthin... i dont think its fun to spend months lvling a weak toon meanwhile getting ganked by anyone whos playing just for longer time and then finaly create a better toon thats maybe competive in the pvp... maybe a new server would help a little

A new server is fine in theory.....periodically level the playing field and make players start from the same level. Unfortunately there are just not enough PvPers out there and they would end up getting spread too thinly. Don't forget all the Euro servers got merged last month...there's just not enough people out there to warrant NEW servers.

try one of the PvE servers. unless you like pvp, then yeah i will be hard. your going against ppl that know the game, know how to get lots of AA's and keep there lvl low, and their probably well equiped. id suggest playing on a PvE server until you get a good feel for the game, then going back to the PvP and giving that another shot.

If you betray to the whats it called side that is residing in haven... (not good or evil) you can attack all havenites, all freeportians, and all qeynosians.

EQ2 is a PvE game with a PvP component tacked on. The PvP side suffers from many balance issues, and an overall lack of purpose that reduces PvP to a mindless gankfest. There's no overall strategic goals for one side to accomplish - no land to control, no castles to storm. Further, character power increases exponentially, which is fine in a PvE game, but is realy a very bad design in a PvP game. In PvE, an end level character is nearly infinitely more powerful than a starting character - a level 70 could kill a level 1 character with a single auto-attack. What is needed is a complete overhaul of advancement and character power. The gap needs to be narrowed substantially, so that a character is competative from the beginning. While more developed characters should have an advantage, a newly created character should still pose a threat to even the most developed character.

well maybe the betrayal should be used for killing as punishment increase the lootdrop(pick out of bag),some crookskills make the killing worth doin it but give it a big consequense i think it would give much more depth to the current pvp

When you do play pay serious attention to the spelling and punctuation of the quests. Learn from the developers. Then come back and repost your comments because I have no idea what you just said.

You're new to it, so I'll keep it succinct. The ruleset is going to change with the next update, according to a Dev. How, nobody's sure, but there will be changes. I suggest that you take some time and read up on the following subject: level locking. It'll explain a lot of "Why the hell am I dying so fast" issues, and there are quite a few useful suggestions and tips.

sometimes I think people keep playing just for the grief they recieve, and then having a reason (or forum, if you will) to vent said grief & frustration... I keep playing because it's fun, and it's more exciting than being hit in the head with a tackhammer. Although, I also love playing ice-hockey, so it's on the same level as being hit in the head with a hockey puck.

If you want to try a low pop PvP server -and- possibly help to enhance the game by finding (and reporting) bugs and other issues, you could always try the PvP Test server. While people can copy their normal character on to that server, I seriously doubt most play there often. It could help you get a better feel for the game and still have the "attack anyone" component. But.. while you can copy a character to the Test PvP from another PvP server, you cannot do the reverse. You can't level up on Test PvP and then transfer to a normal PvP server.

PvP at EQ2 have no real reason of killing the oponents, the matter they are good or bad isn´t enough (to me). as long as i can´t be a red person in EQ2, as long as i dont play on a pvp server ^^. if someone plays for a much longer time, he or she should benefit out of their time they already spend in their toon o_O anyhow... so long S.T. Everyone starts out this way, once you get past the lowbie levels it gets better meaning there won't be gank squads around every corner. Just stick with it, shrug off the deaths and you'll be alright.

most of u seem to forget that when u played en lvled your first toon u din'nt have to deal with ubers (deal with = die in 2-3 hits or 9/10 spells resist or frustrating things like that....) and with the current aa points they have even a bigger advantage in faster lvling and name it.... i think its a good thing u can lvl lock and explore all aspects but i think there should be somekind of penalty make the lootdrop better like 'always shoose from bag ' some strategic high lootdrop areas or whatever....

i understand they earned it to be good players but there should be protection to like uberguards with much larger agro radius or whatever... maybe dropping pvp ristrictions wood be a good thing so a lvl 70 could help i would be happy if a lvl 70 1 hit them and take hes best item so they would think twice before ganking in startareas

Everyone here has an account which they pay for every month. Now lets take out any type of billing info like a credit card or their email address, or they're address lol and go with the simplest form in anything having to do with the internet. Your ip address. Those things are so easily obtained its sick weather your using a 3rd party program which would track stats of the person or just useing a device you nab the ip, you scan it on any free trace site which leads you to the provider of the service which has the little extension that the signal goes out to from the place of residence. You can find all that out without even ever having to deal with an operator for records. Now paying to get to them, well your on ur own cause that gets expensive. Oh ya FFA PVP FTW. Theres nothing like beating on a nopb over and over and then camping him for being a little (edited) 11 year old that the kids at school stuff into trash cans. Usually they return to games like this where they can hide behind foolish level systems that probably lessen the odds of another player given the way the combat, equipment, item, aa system and everything else is set up as.

They should implement the PvP flagging system from starwars. Every MMO out there should do that. Then you can have PvP on all servers everywhere if and when you want it .. IMO i think it's the cleverest system available and since we are factioned allready it should be a breeze ( easy for me to say i dont have to code it )

For those of you that do not know how it works its something like this:

SWG:

You start as Neutral you then select to be either Imperial or Rebel by running a few faction missions and acumulating a very low amount of faction point for wich ever side you chose . You then have no less than three levels of agression settings .

Leave : you are still in your faction but will not be attacked by anything from the other faction be it NPC's or players

On duty: You can attack and will be attacked by every oposite NPC faction holder

Full duty: You have full contact with all oposite faction holders NPC's AND players that have chosen to be on the same level as you

You look up a duty officer to change your active status. Back when i was playing the last timers on that was if i recal correctly something like 5 minuttes to go on any kind of active duty and then it took 1 hours to loose it when you so CHOSE . This way you have room for all playstyles at the players whim .

Yours

Brorim
