Ok, since I couldn't really find a general forum place to put this, I am putting it here. What I would like from everyone is a short, semi detailed list of a few things you'd like to see put in the game. Please keep them realistic so that there is even a remote chance that the Devs will take this thread seriously. With that said, here is my list.

1. NO MORE MITTENS! 'Nuff said really... I know these mittens are realistic armor and all, but they are some of the uggliest things in the entire game... nothing ruins a bad [Removed for Content] armor combo than a pair of heavy metal oven mitts. The high ranking npc's in the Militia House in Freeport are an example of this.

2. Bowstrings! Yeah, I'm a Ranger, and I want bowstrings of my fricken bows... if you have metal oven mitts for realisticness, please please please give us bowstrings.

3. Quivers! Yep, another Ranger thing... Without them, it makes me wonder where I pull my arrows from. >_<;

4. Multi weapon view. The ability to have my melee and ranged weapon showing at the same time if I want to... Why do my weapons magically vanish when I use the other? If we can have a one hander and shield show up at the same time, surely we can do the same for dual wields and a bow.

5. /Real/ stances. I'm a Ranger, why do I stand exactly the same as any other class using dual wield weapons even when in a stance? My defensive stances almost all have the word dance in them, how about making it so that I have flowing defensive movements with my weapons when in this stance so that I seem to be dancing like a tree in the wind?

6. Proper one hander + symbol/book attacking animation. This one is sort of annoying. There my necro is with a dagger in one hand and a symbol in the other. Yet, when he attacks, instead of stabbing like he should, he stands there and flails both dagger and his symbol while only one is actually doing damage. How hard can it be to code symbols/books/other similar things so that the game recognizes them as either shields or not even being there?

Sooooo, what sort of things do you guys got? And since I know it will come in droves, please explain exactly why you want armor dye, and how you would implement it. Also, please try your best to avoid flaming/trolling as I want this thread to be constructive.

1) Easier Travel from Kelethin!

Yesterday I returned to EQ2 (after about 4-5 months) as I wanted to try the new area of Darklight Wood and Neriak. I created a Dark Elf, got her to level 10 and took her into Neriak. I couldn't wait to see the housing (TeeHee). Cool! I had her get a one room. Now she stood gazing at all the empty space and of course I had to bring in my Main - a carpenter.

My level 33 carpenter, Jinjer (level 28 zerker) could supply Gember (DE) with almost everything she needed to set up her new home. I had made a list of things that I thought would look great in the Neriak House - blues and greens etc. But Jinjer didn't have all the raws needed to create them all.

Two choices - take Jinjer into the different areas to collect the raws or buy from the broker. I looked at the TIME needed to have Jinjer travel to areas that would have tier 3 raws needed for some of the items I wanted to create. Grrr - I just did NOT want to take the TIME to RUN all the way!

I got spoiled when Kelethin had the NPC to Antonica! Once there I could take a Griffin to other areas.

I ended up buying from the Broker - spending Lots of hard earned coin! for things I could have gathered myself.

This issue (lack of travel options) is the main reason I have been gone from the game! I LOVE this game! I Adore my home(s). I Love to create 'stuff' with my tradeskillers! I Love the "game-within-the-game" of Broker (setting prices, watching what sells and adjusting my prices, adding or removing items - and the Thrill of The Sale). I Don't always have Time (RL) to Travel And Play.

One thought I had - Villages with housing. This way you wouldn't need to travel to the City. You could set-up your home closer to the level you are = ease of hunting, adventuring, crafting etc .....OR offer More Quick travel options.

2) Ability to add more than one item to a Mail.

OR allow Evil/Good to share the bank...

Once I had made some of the items for Gember - Jinjer had to Get Them All To Her

"Leaded Loam" "T1 Common" "No Value" would be greatttt!

Of course, guild housing!!!

I want the shared banking to be shared across account as well. It's a pain to make a guild just to put one evil, one good character in to pass stuff back and forth. For PvE of course

Make armor sets match to the chestplate you are wearing. I'm tired of looking like a clown. Make all adornments made by the current tradeskill classes (giving them more recipes).

Put escape potions on the city merchants.

Make all mount skins and mount stats more interchangable. If I can pay for the 50% horse (have guild level, money and status), but like the regular old pony skin that is usually a 20% speed horse, let me get a fast version of that pony. In other words, have us pay for the buffs/bonuses, rather than just the look. Maybe have certain mounts available at certain levels (like now), but the actual buff is a seperate thing (magic saddle or whatever, again, with the correct level needed).

Give us equipment tabs like in Vanguard.
As to the quiver thing, I meant it as in I want to /SEE/ my quiver on my back rather than pulling arrows out of no where. Oh yeah, please try to explain why you want to see some of these things. That way, if a blue moon rises, and a dev looks at this thread, they will have a good idea of exactly what we want.

7. Bulk Mailing. Say I hire myself out to harvest for people, and I want to mail them what I find... It can taking fecking forever to mail all the raws I find one piece at a time. About as much time as it would take to go and meet them... which defeats the purpose of the mail system. This would also serve as a work around to the shared bank thing between factions.

8. Mailing/shared banking of lore items... My Ranger has found many an item that he would like to send to my alts that he cannot because they are lore and I do not have a guild to use as my own item transfer service.

9. This isn't mine, but I have seen it elsewhere... craftable undies! Why must a level 70 person be forced to wear rags under their fable armor?

I remember the early days of EQ1 and all the fun I had with the GM events. Like when they turned one of the Karana's into a graveyard, or when a named Aviak appeared one day and was blasting everyone in the raid force out of the aviak towers, or when some stupid GM induced gremlin on an overdose of alchohol kept slaughtering me in Kunark.

IMO, the events were well thought out and added a little dynamism to the game. It didn't feel like the same ole same ole all the time. I would love to see cities or zones get raided. A band of assassins sneaks into Qeynos... A bunch of goodie two shoes Pally's assault Freeport... Orcs overrun the stronghold in Zek... I think this would make the game a little more interesting and fun. Something a little better than the few random events we have now. I mean, for crying out loud, the last event I saw was a few people sitting around the docks in Qeynos that got a keg for their room for telling the best story about what a beer the GM handed him tasted like!!

I remember some vid that was taken in E3 that showed all that. I understand this was done for preformance reasons but maybe if they could start flipping back on the switches due to the hardware getting better and better would be the easiest road to take.

Yes... DOWN WITH THE MITTENS! If you look at the gauntlets from medieval history and stuff, the top part was layed slab of metal (like our mittens) with regular metal gloves underneath for gripping purposes. If you won't remove the mittens, atler them to this so that we don't look like sadistic house wives on steroids.

8. More interaction from Antonia and Lucan... these two cities were the original basis of the game, and heavily influence the pvp servers. I want to see my Queen coming out and showing her loyal followers that she does indeed care. And for Lucan, so that he shows that he can still strike fear into the hearts of his minions.

Heck, make it a live event where they are attackable with raid force guards so that if someone wants to try, they can. Could you imagine the difficulty of making a raid force out of all Freeport/Neriak residents? Well, there could be Qeynos/Kelethin people there, but the faction hit would be sooo bad, there would be no way to repair it. You'd be a forced exile, unable to even betray due to not being able to enter your home city. This would be because every single npc, previously attackable or not, would attack you on sight for having killed their leader.

It could be the hardest raid of all time, with you having to defeat their guards outside as the leader flees inside their castle/citadel. You would then have to fight floor by floor getting past all sorts of awesome named guards and stuff to reach the boss... traps and ambushes as you walk into an area that they know better than anyone else. GM's like Balckguard could fight in the defense of Freeport, making the event oh so much more fun.

You could get titles like Slayer of Antonia/Lucan/Blackguard to make you victory even sweeter. Or as other people have mentioned, call to arms to protect you city from enemy insurgents ranging from solo mobs all the way up to epic boss battles where you take on their commander. The ideas are just so... fecking awesome, it'd bring a serious challenge against WoW that they have never seen before. We could be known as the game with the only truly interactive and changing world. (Kill off Lucan and his necro dark elf mistress takes over... or Antonia's secret daughter takes over)

I agree with the poster on the pony. I love the painted pony for sale but not the reduced speed. Give us a choice to buy a painted pony with a faster run speed.

The wargs are bought in colors or susposed to be but to me they all look brown. I bought a black with spots but it looks brown with spots. The spots are not defined either. It would be nice if it were really black with white spots like the paint ponys. I can't see the color of the saddle while on the mount either.

Also I would like to see the backing speed returned to the horses and granted to the new wargs. The carpets have already been fixed with faster backing why are the mounts still quick sand slow?

I agree do away with the baker mittens.

I like the idea of bank sharing within the same account to include evil/ good toons.

I also wish that you could mail everything at one time instead of an item at a time which takes forever and adds up in money when there is alot to send. Especially when mailing collections ect to share with your alts from freeport to qeynos.

I would like to be able to buy a non status big house like is offered in Neriak in both freeport and qeynos.

I would love to have armor dye also to fix my mixed matched sets so they look well.... matched.

I would like to see travel time issues lessened in the cities such as Qeynos and Freeport. In some areas there is no bell so it requires either a lengthy run or use of the sewers. All of which requires mutiple zoning from place to place.

I would like to see travel time made quicker; for instance, the spires take 5 mins to transport unless you are lucky and get there when it's ready to transport. Why can't it be fixed to transport once you get the travel shard. I also wish that the clouds gave all the choices of all island; instead of, having to you fly from island to island to island before you finally get to your destination. Sometimes you have to hop clouds from 3 different islands before you get to the one you need.

I would like to see banks in south freeport, east freeport, ect instead of having to zone from the area I live to bank. I would also like to see menders in all of these areas, some have banks but no mender resulting in zoning to mend. In North Qeynos there is a bank but no mender.

Steel, I agree with most of your things, but two of them are just so... meh.

Mounts being able to run at full speed backwards? Please Tunare, NO! For the ever love of there being /some/ realism in EQ2, mounts should not be able to run as fast as a car backward. Have you ever seen a horse in real life trying to go backward? It just doesn't work all that well because they are meant to go forward.

Quicker travel? Again, please Tunare, NO! It is already far to easy to travel from one end of Norath to another. By use of the bells and other such devices, one could hit every main continent in the game in under half an hour if they have a half way decent pc. Seriously... you're mad about the spires taking five minutes just like they did in eq1?

Sorry, didn't mean to flame there... but yeah, those two are pretty unreasonable, but the rest are pretty cool.

Littleman17 the horses did not always back this slow. That was changed maybe 6 months past. They used to back as fast as the carpets and that is what I'm asking, to have the backing speed restored like they did with the carpets. The backing speed on the carpet was reduced at the same time the mounts were but the carpets have been reset again to a faster backing speed; however, the mounts have not. And I did not ask for full speed backing. You need to read it again. Yep in real like I have seen horses backing but I have never seen a person riding on a flying carpet for that matter forwards or backwards. This is a game not real life.

And what is wrong with wanting faster travel in the older cities that lack bells? I would rather spend more time playing than zoning from point A to point B and having to run from one end to the other just to travel. Hey, in my book convience of travel is everything. And if that were not true then why do I have ppl sending me tells all the time asking my warden to port them? Because..... ppl want to play not spend all of their time getting just getting there.

And the spires do a 5 min timer set on them, if u get there after it has just transported u will see.

So flame on because it does not bother me at all. It's my opinion about the game and what I would like to see changed or added. I doubt I am alone in these suggestions. You and I just don't agree. I see no need to flame any poster anyway on this thread, since it takes the thread off track and discourages some from making their suggestions.

I would also like to see group sow and group necro hearts, and conjur shards like another poster suggested.

Littleman I thought you wanted a constructive suggestion thread here, not a discussion about what is realistic or not? If your gonna dismiss a suggestion like horse backup speed because its not realistic compared to rl then this thread will end up being not so constructive and it wont feel very welcoming to post ideas here. It will all end up in for example: reviving after death isnt realistic, and so on. Not everyone is looking for as much realism as possible in a game you know.

It doesnt feel like a constructive suggestion thread if you are going to attack ideas that arent your cup of tea.

Sorry about that. :p

But one of the things that people have been bashing for the longest time is how easy it is to move from place to place in the game. It provides no real feel of exploring when you can be pretty much be anywhere in Norath in under five minutes. Although I would like for Qeynos and Freeport to be one big zone like Kelethin and Neriak, they are just too big for it to be viable. What I mean is that Neriak is about the size of North and South Qeynos combined. That still leaves The Harbor, districts, and the Eldarr grove.

And I say, bring on the group SoW and power items! These would make raids and groups flow ever so much better. Could you imagine healers having to pass out their revive items one person at a time with the recast the spells have? *cringe*

I got another one!

Crossbows! Hunter only bows that have a 3.5 speed rating and do a whole hell of a lot of damage. Why Hunter only? Because Brawlers get fist weapons, and crossbows require a lot of training to use? (Ok, so I bs'ed that.)

Not just fly 2 feet off the ground, but to have as much altitude as wanted, within reason. It's done in city of heroes, would be great here. Even if they were slow I would still like it.

LOL @ flying mount... i want content to raid. i want heroic content hard as nizara ( yes that means content people that are in mastercraft wont be able to do it) i want the game to see more playable content that doesnt turn grey after 10 lvl. i want to see the tier of zone removed in order to have some lvl 20 mob at one place as well as some lvl 85 mob a little further away. i want to see a penalty for dying to punish incompetent player

what I like to see? I'd like to see good loot drop again. remember the first week of live eq2 and getting a few masters off newbie mobs. now it's so rare and even the heroics drop vendor loot most times. all the stuff can be no value no trade for all i care, i just would love to level up and see some real loot every couple lvls in stead of 30-40 lvls and not one great loot. even if one limits a new character to lock exp. 'heroic soloing only' kills.

the one who thinks going through the splitpaw tunnels for no loot and low exp. needs a beatin' with a wet noodle

I want better areas to PvP in, with less fast travel that people can escape on. I want titles and death counters removed so people (including myself) are encouraged to take on fights that they might end up losing. I want level locking totally removed to fix both the level lockers and the bots who spend forever in places like Obelisk of Lost Souls. I want a fairer distrubition system for tokens. If three drop off of one person we should be able to divide them up instead of rolling for them as a single lump. I want more raid zones that are like labs, which give nice loot, don't require masses of time, and everyone can easily enjoy. And most importantly, I want Venekor merged with Nagafen so there's actually level 70s to play with.

1) The option to switch the type of experience you want to gain. A toggle that would let you switch from standard leveling experience and AA experience. So that at ANY level you can grind AAs through combat like a level 70. Gaining AAs through quests is great, but goodness, for someone who doesn't enjoy questing all that much, it can be a real chore, especially considering the bulk of fedex quests that we have...bleh. Yes I know, combat AA experience is super slow, but still it would be nice as an option.

2) an instant mailing system. Other games have them, and it works from the exchange website to the game, so I know they can do it.

3) craftable Gis for monks and bruisers. Those two classes look great at creation, then 10 levels later, you're wearing mismatching armor until you hit level 20 and can use the fluff slots. What's the harm in craftable Gis!!!

4) LDoN type dungeons. This has been asked for since the game launched. There are those that say it ruined EQ1, I think it was great. Instanced heroic dungeons that scale to the group that is zoning into them. With rewards such as offered by the original LDoN quests (armor, weapons, addornments, etc.). It really helped those that wanted to group but had a limmitted gaming schedule. The EQ1 LDoN dungeons could be completed in under 2 hours. We have Feydwer, and the DoF zones...add those dungeons to them. And no, I don't mean something like split paw. Those dungeons and quests were exteremely boring.

5) Get rid of the underlying base class system. Let a Shadow Knight be a Shadow Knight, and not a crusader. Let a Berserker be a Berserker, and not a spin off of a warrior. Allowing us to choose our class from the start is a huge step in the right direction. But the way the game is setup today, a fighter is a tank, a mellee dps is a scout, etc. I'd love to see mellee dps classes that are not scouts at the core. Classes are too similar in this game. Okay, this will probably never happen, but I wanted to throw it out there.

6) A player race that's actually part of Norath's lore...and not some race that needs lore thrown together because they hadn't previously existed! Sarnak's are a good start, but I'd love to see gnolls, ORCS, drachnids, or drolvargs (sp?) as a playable race. If they ever bring in Velious, give us the Coldian dwarves...they had a distinct look to them.

7) Better quest rewards. A good chunck of the low and mid level quests give very poor xp/loot and are mostl done just for AAs.

That's all I can think of for now

Return most non-heritage/signature quest rewards to tradable. This was a change that happened sometime around KoS or EoF, and IMO it was a big mistake. The old argument for NOT having every quest reward every class was that it would need something like 4x the amount of items in the db for rewards, and that you could always sell them to other players anyways if you didn't need them. But now you can't. You're doing a quest purely for the exp/AA and NOT for the rewards at all (except rarely). It makes questing in EoF for someone levelling up LESS rewarding than levelling in the old-world, as most of the quests you do just aren't useful.Just put all of the rewards back to tradeable/attunable (except heritage/signature, as I said), and it will be solved.

Shackleton1 wrote:

Perhaps the problem is of a nature not dissimilar to the problem with EoF set armours.

Really low droprates in general don't work in an MMRPG because when the droprate is really low, the deviation from the average becomes really high.

I'll make up some numbers to illustrate this point.

Let's say a booster pack has a 1/500 chance of dropping. Seems pretty reasonable, right? That means on average you'd get a booster pack every 500 mobs, which you can do in a week or in two weeks depending on how much you play. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that you kill 500 mobs in a week so you're getting 1 booster pack a week. Which is pretty generous.

But...

1) If you're grouping rather than soloing, you're dividing that chance by 6 because you have to random for it in the group. So it's 1/3000 chance, or 1 booster every 6 weeks.

2) With low chances of dropping, you get a corresponding increase in the number of players "being unlucky" and not seeing a drop for a long time. The chance of *not* getting a booster in a week is 5/6. This means that just under 70% of players will not see a booster pack in two months, just under 50% of players will not see a booster pack in four months, just over 33% of players won't see a booster pack in six months. Just over 10% of players won't see a booster pack in a year. Now, the flipside is that some players will get over the average number of booster pack drops. If the item was a sword, say, those extras would end up on the broker and everything would balance out. But because the second booster pack is as desirable as the first, demand doesn't drop. Hence the very high prices at the broker.

So, an average of 1 booster per week results in 10% of players not getting any booster packs for a year, and an additional 23% of players not getting any booster packs for six months.

If your group is only killing the same number of mobs in a week that you could manage solo, then you're in the wrong group.
