I was logged in for over an hour this afternoon. I gated my toon to Qeynos Harbor from Castle Mistmoore. I was in droag illusion at the time. I hung on the "Loading UI resources" screen. I disconnected and tried to log back in, i succeded but was unable to interact with any NPCs or PCs. I logged out again, and now i am unable to get past the "Loading UI resources" page. I am able to log in other toons on the same account with no problems. *** Update *** I was able to try and login from another computer and was succesful. I moved my toon to another zone and was able to log in again. I then tried moving him back into Qeynos Harbor, and was again hung on the "Loading UI resources" screen. So, it appears to be a problem with QH and my character...

System Specs:

AMD64 3400+ / 2gigs / 7600GT running XP with latest patches

Connection Info:

Server you currently playing on.

    Faydark/Befallen

Any error messages you are experiencing.

No popup messages (only thing i can find is in the alerlog.txt)

Internet Service Provider you are using and type of Internet connection.

    Comcast / Cable

Do you have a firewall (even if you think it's disabled) between you and the Internet, or are you using any personal security/firewall software?

ZoneAlarm 7.0337 (have ran with it disabled, no difference)

Are you doing any Internet Connection Sharing or Network Address Translation?
Thanks for the reply! I will look into my firewall configs when i get home.

Seems odd to me that a firewall issue would only affect one charachter in one zone though.... One would think that if the firewall was the culprit no characters would work.

Could it be that some of your Qeynos Harbour files have been corrupted (possibly not just the ones in the UI directory) - though admittedly if this is the case youd expect the same issues for your other characters, but given it is just on your PC its probably something corrupted.

I can almost guarantee that it's SOE's fault, not your computer. I've had a similar problem now for nearly 2 weeks, but it's even worse (check the other thread about bumped to character select). I'll zone into Queynos, and get stuck on "Loading UI resources", bumped to character select, and can't login -- it's stuck on "connecting to zone server". Can't login for another 30-40 minutes.

I made the same assumption last night, and deleted everything in the Everquest2 directory that started with Qey. I then ran a full file scan and allowed it to download the Qeynos files again. I also cleared all my temp files and caches. No dice.

I am pretty much stumped at this point. Short of reinstalling the game(which i am not sure will even fix it) i really don't know what to do at this point. This is affecting me as well as my entire guild, as i am unable to log in and help.

Sony Tech Support, are you out there?

Please let me know if there is any other information you all may need to help me diagnose this problem.

Disabled firewall, and still same thing.

I have reinstalled MSXML hoping that it may clear up the xml error, no dice.

Couldn't load .xml Encountered data outside of container tags Encountered data outside of container tags Encountered data outside of container tags Encountered data outside of container tags Encountered data outside of container tags Encountered data outside of container tags

I completly uninstalled EQ2 and cleared the registry of all EQ2 releated items. Reinstalled, repatched... STILL NO DICE!

If i log my toon in from another computer, and move him out of Qeynos Harbo all is well. As soon as i zone back into QH *BOOM* hung on the "Loading UI resources" page. This might not be an issue if it was say Obelisk of Lost Souls, or some other obscure zone that i visit on a yearly basis. Since QH is a hub of transportation for the game, it is impossible for me to avoid it.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I am really feeling more and more that this is a Server side issue.... SONY ARE YOU OUT THERE?!!?

If it only affects one character, and consistently whether on your machine or another, there's a bug with your main characters' file. Nothing on your end is going to fix that, you're at SOE's support teams mercy.
