<p>I have just purchased the digital download of Everquest II. I was under the impression that it would come with a code for free 30 days....I never received such code. Did I just spent $20 and I have to register the game for another $15 so that I can play? If so that is not exactly a good deal. Am I wrong that the retail packages come with 30 free days? Help </p><p> Also if I was to purchase the EOF expansion would I still have to have an active EQ2 account or will EOF come with one?</p><p>Thanks lots!</p>

<p>When you log into the launcer it should recognize this as a new account and list the next biling date as 30 days away.</p><p>No games 'come with an active account', but EOF will include all the other releases (albeit not the X-packs)</p>

You will not be charged for the first month of play time, but will have to make your first payment 30 days after you create the account. When it comes to expansions (even though it includes everything) you would just "upgrade" your existing account to activate EoF content using the CD-Key in the box.</p>

Sounds like you purchased the digital download of EoF. Unfortunately for you, only the retail box contains all the previous expansions. =/

Try a Bestbuy for an EoF box. I got one for myself and they had 6 on shelf, came back a week later to get one for my wife and they had 8, no lack of them around here! (not that i'd normally shop at bestbuy, but thats where I was told to look.) It does [Removed for Content] me off that I can't DD it though. I'd of been playing about 2 weeks sooner if I didn't have to wait for a day I could drive out to bestbuy.

The leading game sellers here ( including EBGames ) doesnt even Sell EQ2 . Only option is Digital or online shopping for a retail .</p><p>Yours</p><p>Brorim</p>

Psst... there are ways around the problem (even for Europeans): Some online shops will sell you just the registration code (the so-called "CD Key" from a boxed product), which is all you need - at least that is how I did it, because I wanted the house items, but did not want to travel around Germany looking for the box. BTW, they offer to send you the box with the CDs in the mail (after they have sent you the code via e-mail) - I haven't done this because, even if you have the CDs, you are going to have to update the game anyway when you first log on, but since you purchased the game, the CDs (and the box) are yours. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Thank you for all your responses. I did make a mistake. Buying just he EQ2 box is a rip because for 20 more $ you can get that AND all the expansions AND 30 days free. (The reason I did this is because I did not realize that the EOF came with full version of the original game also. I thought that you always have to buy EQ2 first then the expansions) I went to BBY and purchased EOF and all is fine. I will never do the online purchase again. I will now try to get my money back...I never did start an EQ2 subscription (on this account) and currently am in an "initial" status so I should be OK getting my money back...I hope. If I bought the game from a store and never opened it I would have gotten a refund....I hope to do the same here. Wish me luck.

<p>Just say you bought EOF in the store and bought EQ2 online thinking you needed both.</p><p>Either that or contact your credit card company if push comes to shove? Good luck, and welcome.</p>

Well all seems well. I haven spoken to my CC company first and they told me to talk to SOE to see how "nice" they are. So I called SOE and I actually had a pleasant experience. The gentleman I spoke to was nice, helpful and professional. He told me that the charge will be removed in 5-7 business days and gave me a cancellation number. So far so good <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Thanks for all your input guys!

Obviously it'll mean a much larger download but that's better than getting 1/4 the content for the full price.

I was able to get a DoF box (for the houseplant) much after its release. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>
