First of all, let me just say I've been using this computer set up since before Unrest patch and had no trouble whatsoever. I took a break until wolf mount patch, and when I get back terrible lag all the time. I think it's a memory leak but not sure because I never get an "Out of memory" message like some other people. When I first log on, the game seems to run perfectly. As time goes on, the game gets more sluggish, rendering stuff more slowly. After 30 minutes, I have like 5-9 FPS on balanced. I've tried turning down my settings to extreme performance but that makes things worse. If I switch settings after 5 minutes of being in-game the game practically crashes/crawls the rest of my session. I've scanned for viruses, defragmented, even reinstalled EQII and nothing has made any progress. No other game runs as badly as EQII, and I'm playing games that are way more intensive/just as intensive, like C&C 3, CoV, Planetside, etc.

I've got Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon XP 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ ~2.4GHz, 3070MB RAM, DirectX 10, nVidia GeForce 7600 GT 256MB card, Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS

There are plenty pages. I think i heard that its something to do with a flag on the exe file enabling eq2 to use >2gb ram, but i also heard altering this was against the EULA - it is a known bug i'm sure and will be fixed soon. When you say you've been using that computer set-up since before the unrest patch, you haven't. You've installed vista. This is a big change.

Been playing for since launch with no problems, took a break after Unrest and just came back two weeks ago. Now the game behaves exactly the say way you describe.

I don't have Vista though, I have Windows XP. 3.4 GHz processor, 1.5 MB RAM, ATI x1950

I thought I subscribed to this thread to know when people would post, so I posted a new thread on accident. I used Vista before Unrest patch with around 3GB ram. I took a break between Unrest patch and Wolf mount patch. When I got back, I noticed that I lagged like crazy during combat, especially in groups of 6 people or more. Didn't know EQII can't handle more than 2GB ram. That's kind of asinine.

Crazy laggy in raid too, I must go to the best performance option. Running with xp and FX6600. I was fine before, I didnt change anything, I dont understand what's happening.
