Hi I am going to buy myself a new monitor, and i wonder if EQ2 supports 1680x1050 in fullscreen, i have a minor issue that i cant play any game at all in windowed mode, so i currently wonder if eq2 support that resolution in fullscreen. If you wonder what the issue is... my computer turns off (completely) when i start any game in windowed mode. i suspect either GPU or mainboard. ill post specs later today.

Well I know it supports 1600x1024 in fullscreen which is only just smaller (and same ratio).

I know this cos I've just got a new pc and monitor so was fiddling with it last night, and thats the max my pc can manage (the monitor can supposedly manage 1680x1050, but apparently my pc/graphics cards dont quite get to that size)

The list of resolutions depends on your monitor, it can be installed as Plug&Play Monitor or as the manufacturer's monitore, this can influence the supported resolutions. It can also help changing/updating your graphic card's drivers. Aside this, how is the gaming experience on a widescreen monitor anyway? Is it truly better or more practical than a 4:3 monitor? I'm asking coz right now i've all my hotbars, etc... set up in the horizontal black bars at the top and bottom of my 4:3 screen. In widescreen, everything would be displayed inside the picture frame of the game... not sure how i would like that

I think all it does is widen the screen (not stretch, widen) so you can see a wider area than before.

To be honest last night was the first time I've tried it on fullscreen widescreen, was nice to have extra room for hotbars definately - cos I have mine across the bottom as well (though not in the letterbox type screen - I didnt like the black bars, made it feel smaller).
