I'm piggy backing on this since it kinda sounds like my problem. Been playing since release nearly everyday without a single issue. But now, after GU35, I'm getting real bad shuttering, lag, etc. And the game freezes/crashes randomly somewhere between 15 and 45 minutes of playing.

Is this a known issue that's going to be fixed soon, or do I need to start a new post with all the pertinent data?

Update 35 has messed me up too. With frequent out of memory errors, I'm also just freezing (and having to Hard boot my computer) every hour or so.

Also, do you use a 3rd party disk defrag utility?

Windows defrag utility does an inefficient job. Try Diskkeeper or Perfect Disk for free...just google it!

I came back after 2 months vacation on the launch of GU35 and now I'm experiencing big lags the longer I play. The only way to fix it is to reboot and then go back in, then if I play with settings it seems like it gets worse no matter which direction I go with the settings (for instance if I come in at balanced and set it to extreme performance I should see an improvement but I do not).

Heres an interesting question: Is it in certain zones? When it happens, are there alot of people in the zone?

For me its everywhere that I've been. Basically I can run around for about 30 minutes at my regular settings (which are normally Hiqh or Balanced) then it starts stuttering and lagging and the only way it goes away is if I reboot (although it doesnt always need a full computer reboot, sometimes just shutting EQ2 down and reopening it is enough).

Sounds like they killed the hampster running the graphics engine >.> Hopefully they fix it... but heres another interesting question: Did your server's population boom whenever the server transfer happened?

I've been noticing this lag problem too. Another odd thing was when I was grouping with 2 friends, 1 from Maine and 1 from the netherlands and they both wend Linkdead at the same time in Thundering steps. They both had an EQ client exception. There seem to be some bugs in the program at the moment.

I am having a really bad performance problem....

My husband and I both have identical computers, just had them built as a matter of fact, and vere virgin for LU 35.

Both computers are identical in hardware, software and setting for vid card etc... His runs Eq2 smoothly on High Quality setting and looking at the task manager, his computer is running Eq2 at up to 15 % (overall cpu usage about up to 15%).

My computer, however has run Eq2 at 92 + % in task manager and overall cpu usage is at 100%. ONLY Eq2 is doing this also. And it is limited to ONE of the twin comps... mine and I'm annoyed to near my limit.

I sent TSRs all the files they wanted about a week ago and still witing for a clue.

I started having stuttering on my screen immediately after GU35. In all zones, even inside player houses. Sometimes when I am just standing there, everything seems ok, game runs just fine. But as soon as I start moving, I get delays for like 1-20 sec. Game just freezes. I tried downloading new video drivers, defragmenting my hard drive and reinstalling the game. Nothing helps. I have never had such problems in more than 2 years of Eq2. I am running P4 3Ghz with hyperthreading 2Gb Ram X800GTO video card Hope something will be done on this issue.
