And costs 300$? Not very realistic bundle, it has too much stuff, 1 month of double exp is ridicilous, and DX10 won't happen, that's fpr sure. But they should tweak the engine, as it's quite heavy atm.

Why dont you just ask us to buy a Playstation 3 while you're at it? Why not waste an additional 600 dollars?

Everything past the lead dragon is pretty ridiculous honestly.
I agree that something gimicky would be pretty cool. I think maybe you're going a bit overboard on what to put in the package. I would like to see a cool packaging that if I had it on my desk people wouldn't think of me as a freak (beyond the normal freakishness of displaying what game you're playing). I also really like the lead dragon miniature idea. I have kept all my pewter figures that I have received in games except when they've been destroyed or my wife gave them away for me. Last I'd love to see a return of the cloth map. I still have 2 of the cloth maps from EQ1, they are some of my favorite game items that I always have up in my computer room.

Even this shortened list may seem a bit excessive, I'm not sure, but it would be good to get another collector's edition box with extra goodies in the box and in the game. (Maybe even a retro collector's, which would allow you to get the original Collector's dragon.) My guess is the unique packaging would be the real marketing ploy to help gain attention to the EQ product on the store shelves.

SOE has tried hard to have ood music in EQ II but the majority of the time it falls flat and its dull, too soft, and/or unexciting. Ive always liked SOE's special rewards in SWG because they were game based and mostly useful. Varactyl Lava flee Bunker house Yaucht Barc speeder AT-RT SE Goggles ITV In EQ2 we have a baby dragon that whilst nice it plods around the house and does nothing much, server titles and painting which again are nice but dont do much and other house pets/items. Give something for the real game even if its just for looks, a special mount (40% speed) or a new clothing item for your class or a special cloak something thats not needed but is fun to have. Houses are great but dont get used enough to warrant all these expansion rewards.

I'd settle for a Collectors Edition being available here in Australia available at launch time. I don't think just about any of the boxed versions have been available here since the original game. Yes I have the bandwidth to download the digital version, but thats besides the point. And yes we occassionally get a few boxed sets, if we don't mind missing the first few days after launch.

So a collectors edition for me would be anything in a box available on the day of launch, anything inside the box after that would just be a bonus.

Sark.

However, at best the CE will be in a Square Metal Tin that MIGHT be slightly larger then the standard box but not by much, and I think this would be the best way to go as it would lower shiping costs some and make it more likly that stores will stock it.

- Everquest 2 Full CD Soundtrack. While possable I don't think many would be interested in it but as it probly would not cost much to add it in the package I would go with that.

- Everquest 2 Making of DVD (Inlcuding Full HD widescreen version of Custscenes), and a three hour doco on the making of ALL the expansions. While HD-Widescreen is WAY over kill for a Making of AND as many of the devs that worked on expaintions prior to RoK are no longer with SoE I don't see getting a Making of Going back to EQ2: Classic Launch but it would be cool for say a 15-20 min RoK making of, included as one of the Tracks on the CD

- Cloth Map of the whole <strike>contient</strike>World, to date, as close to proporly scaled as possable with a Flat map.

- Lead <strike>Dragon</strike> Sarmak Minature

- All in game items to date from all expansions -this will be given in the standard version just like it was with EoF.- including your new flyable dragon mount as a thankyou for purchasing the CE. I don't see SoE pulling a Blizzard and only letting you fly in New zones and as the old zones can't possably suport this, no flying mount, and if they did give a Mount in the CE it should be the planed new cat mount with a 10% runspeed(the same speed as the Pally/SK "fluff" mounts)

- 3 Months free playtime - like EVERY other game if it includes free game time it will be 1 month and it will be for new accounts only. Though a free 30days of station all access pass would be cool.

- Free upgrade to a 2 bed house - housing should be earned not given away, also where would you put it as it can't be near where current housing is...I would like to see them add 2 bedroom housing(at the same price as other convenant 2-bed housing) to the outer districts in Quenos and FP though, though again in most zones I don't know where you would put it.

- Double XP granted for the first month of play to kick start your characters - there is no need for this as the first few lvls flyby infact by the time you could use Bonus XP to help you chetch up, the Month would be over. Instead give CE buyers the bottom rung XP potions, that way the can save them until they need them, though this would be instead of some other in game iteam like the mount, or a house iteam.

- Free copy of the updated Prima Strategy guide featuring ALL the expansions with free download updates!

this would make SoE have to pay Full Retail for each guide, also even at launch they are generally out of date and usless, an Atlas would be kinda cool but if its like EoF, they are going to give use in game maps for all the zones wich makes an Atlas next to worthless and with EQ2maps completly worthless.

- Updated graphics engine making use of Direct X 10. It would a) be impossable to make this solely part of the CE, b) if they did upgrade to DX10 instruction(wich would have to wait until nearly all players have DX10 wich means everyone has Vista) it would be part of a free update, as you can not run an MMO on 2 differant game engines and if they made it part of a payed for expaintion then they would have to do just that. Besides EQlive just resontly upgraded to DX9 and it was a free update. Personally I would prefure thier engine designers to spend thier time Optimizing the current engine, such as the Model Skellital Project(wich will be a free update) and enabliling much more expansive zones. Then taking the time to upgrade EQ2 to DX10 as in reality EQ2 is plenty Pritty enough as it is and is getting prittier.

Any other suggestions guys?? Devs, please take note!!!

That being said... I like the egg idea but I don't know if it's viable. A tin collectors box would be fine. The items listed I would want are as follows: - Everquest 2 Full CD Soundtrack. - Everquest 2 Making of DVD - Lead Sarnak Minature And as to making the game DX10... i've got to laugh along with everyone else. You would effectively cut an already fairly small userbase (compared to wow anyways) in 1/10. I could do it myself, but just a month ago before my computer fried and I was forced to buy new parts... I couldn't. If I wasn't forced to buy new parts I would have sooner quit eq.

I'd like to add that I would very much like to have a hard copy manual in the Collector's Edition package. Manuals on dead trees are very handy to have. A reference card with the various combat arts and spells listed by class and tier would also be a nice inclusion.
