I just made a templar and right now she is lvl 27 and I was just wondering what the best AA lines were for leveling up? I tend to group more but I would like to actually be able to solo a few quests here and there too

thanks for the advice

From everything I've read...INT and STA are the best lines to go down on the front page.

On the back page blessings and cures. I didn't think I would ever go down the cures line...but someone recommended it to me early on and it seems...at level 70...I spend a good portion of my time removing poison and trauma from the tank. When you get enough points in them they start becoming reactive. Couple times lately the tank has been stunned and I was able to quickly remove it.

Do the math...stun a tank...he can't taunt...guess who the mob comes after?

Good luck...

The cures line doesn't do a reactive cure, it did during beta but that never made it to live, all they do is a reactive heal when the target it hit with dmg of the same resist type. if you are a mostly solo or group Templar it may be better to go for the nuke line instead of the cure lines since your use of cures will be limited to the immediate cure of the effect, not a small heal if the tank gets hit by another attack of the same resist type.

After I cast one of the cures...I do see that "cure icon" blinking in the area where all my buffs are. You're saying that's just a heal and not a reactive heal?

If this is the case...that they are not reactive...I will consider respec'ing to give my melee/dps a boost.

What the cure line does, is when your tank gets Dotted with a poison dot, you cure it. Your AA will cast a reactive heal that heals the next time your tank is hit with another poison dot. 3 of 4 cures can trigger 2 reactive heals. However, it is not that great because you still hvae to cast your cure the next time your tank is dotted. Does that make sense? IMO it isn't worth it but I went down that line for the increase in Sanctuary. I might change it again to the compliance line but I am still in deep thought about it.

I followed a tank through OOB the other night...and seemed like I had to do a lot of "curing"...despite having many points down the cures line.

I'm totally sold on the Blessings line...but now you guys have me wondering if cures is the best "other" line to go down.

I went sta/ int line and never regretted it. I even made macro's with small msg letting group know when i'm casting devine recovery, saved many a wipe when used properly.

same with devine aura, warning to tank I'm getting my [Removed for Content] chewed follow by devine aura and complacency , love the new macro sytem,

I did think cures would be excellent next step, but after 3-4 weeks of using it found it of little benefit. I'd agree tho xtra 10 secs on sanctuary could be useful. sigh I'm on najena and number of pug tanks that either don't know or don't care about me pre buffing sanc before they pull the fear guy in unrest , saddens me, or I cast it ( with a warning macro) and they faff about and waste half of it.

I've also put five points in spurn which given healthy increase to 35%/15 %

I'm now wondering were to put next, and I think I'm going to put in smites. although I very rarely solo, the quicker recovery etc, would have its uses, if groups all up and healthy.

Well...I just respec'd the Templar page. Got rid of all my cure points and started putting them in the DPS line. So I going down the Blessings and DPS line.

Result: I was able to take down my first triple up green...the trader that walks around...in New Tunaria. It was a close fight...we were both in the red...I was totally out of power...but I prevailed.

Anxious to finish my AA for the Templar page.

It is most a questions about AAs and equipment.

When you get better equipment and more Aas to use you should handle the green ups rather easily. I did take a quick look at the heroic in new Tunaria that you did mention and tested against some 60 63 and 65 mob and even If I used a lot of mana I cant say I was in any danger.

(100 AA Str/Int Simte line)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vetM9KNSTWY

/Tash

Gack...I'm so jealous. What is the nature of your armor? I'm still wearing level 62 xegonite...OK stuff for its time but I need an upgrade.

Went looking on the broker for that Nem Ankh armor set and just for two pieces they wanted 54 plat.

You looked to be really casting one right after the other. What is it...good armor? high resist? INT & STR? How were you casting so fast?

Add to that the decreased cast and recovery times of the smite AA line and you get a fast a steady stream of cleric nukes.

And if you REALLY want to have fun, get a chanter to give you Time Compression on top of it all.

I will spec my equipment when i get home if you like but it is really not any fancy stuff. I normally don't use any piece of Nem armour since I just own 3 pieces. I have full raise cast speed from the cleric int line and I have full cast speed increase for my smites from the Templar-line.

Most of my equipment I use here is looted from EoF instances. Some raid drops from Labs and the rewards from Claymore quest line. But if you still in your master crafted 62 armour you have lots of things to get upgrade from. I would recommend you to do OOb and Crypt runs daily for a while. It just takes about 45 min each in a group that know what it dose and your hammer pull will speed it up a lot to.

Then use your AA in the templar tree for smite. If you not raiding your heals will do just fine any way. If it's a hard fight I precast my group reactive and when I need to recast it I stun the opponent so I can cast it with out interrupts.

Ah well hope it helps some. Other might give you better advices but it is 90% about equipments. Go for Int and Str and most important mitigation. This will sometimes get you into duelling the tank for drops but one can't stand back always.

/Hugs Tash
