I find it a bit odd that there is no game guide for this ep, considering this one added so much new content. I keep checking Prima's website but there is nothing. Anyone else find this strange?

Given I have seen the Prima guide for that "other games" recent expansion on the cheap rack months ago - and how many subscribers it is meant to have - I can't see them rushing to publish one for a much smaller subscriber base - especially when any update changes the content in any event

MMO's don't make good Prima guides, they change too much and too fast for anyone but a dedicated player to keep up with, never mind the staff that writes, publishes, mass produces and distributes the guides (especially when most stores will be going "What's Everquest 2? Don't bother ordering any copies."<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />. This is really all the "Guide" to playing this game, and it's far better than what Prima would be able to publish. The eq2players forums is a good place to ask all manner of general questions and get advice. <a href="http://eq2.xanadu-community.com/eq2_loot.php?BrowseNPC=1&exp_id=1" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Xanadu</a> for looking up loot <a href="http://eq2i.com/articles/Main_Page" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">EQ2i</a> for looking up quests, adornments, spell lists etc (one of the best resources imo) <a href="http://www.eq2flames.com/index.php" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">EQ2Flames</a> for un-moderated in depth discussion of game mechanics / class balancing / raiding etc

My point was that there is a guide for the other EP's just not this one. It seemed odd to me as this one adds so much to the game.

Maybe the guides for the previous EPs didn't sell so well. /shrug

I think a lot of it's that the original 3 guides are mostly still relevant, especially the original and KoS guides, for overview things like class and race suggestions, information on housing, travel and the like. They're missing stuff about the EoF zones, but nothing that can't be inferred quickly. For the rest, I suspect people refer to (or are referred to) the on-line sites more than to printed guides. Maps, quests and the like are updated too often for a printed guide to be much use (although I do find the EQ2 Atlas quite useful even though a lot of the zones are out-of-date). Combine Allakhazam, EQ2i and the EQ2Map and POIFinder UI add-ons and there's not a lot of need for a guide for mere navigation.

Why would you want one? Prima guides are garbage.
