Once again, after 7.4 failed to deliver, 7.5 have the same issues. Anti-Aliasing will not work with 7.5 version, as it didn't with 7.4, so I'm stuck with 7.3 which seems to work. Do I have to blame Vista users and consider us XP users screwed or is there a workaround for this? Cheers

What video card do you have? 9800, X1800XT, X1900, 2900XT? You might try the Omega drivers, or one of the other modded custom drivers floating around out there.

X1950Pro with 512 mb ram Works very well with 7.3 I'll look for the omega ones, could you provide a link to recent versions please?

What problems are you having? I'm having problems on a PC with an X800 with 7.5 drivers. Tried 7.1 and 7.2 but they give the same issues. If you're having the same as me, I'll try the 7.3 ones. Thanks

The game works fine, it's the anti aliasing that doesn't work with newer drivers, nothing more, nothing less. I don't suggest you to turn AA on with an X800, it's quite taxing on the system. The problem, as I love to say is that once you played the game with maximum textures quality and anti aliasing at 4x (plus af at 8x) it's hard to go back and see all those jagged lines. I play exclusively EQ2, so other games don't bother me at all, hence it's not really a priority to upgrade drivers, but still...

Have you tried adding the line to your EQ2.ini file? I did that and it worked fine for me with Catalyst 7.4. There are multiple posts about it in this forum. I did have to find and copy an existing .ini file, delete the contents and then put in the correct line with Windows XP, because it would otherwise save the file as a *.ini.txt, which didn't get recognized as a .ini, and therefore the AA would not work.

I can't remember the line of code off the top of my head. It was something like r_aa_blit 1 . Just do a search for AA in this forum if you haven't tried this trick yet. There are postings with step-by-step walkthroughs.

And yeah, an X800 is going to be pushed very hard with AA on. I scooped upan X1650Pro 256MB at www.newegg.com for $79. That does the trick for little money, and does not require a pumped up PSU to run like most of the new cards do. My temp never goes above 62C even in 90 degree heat. Usually hold between 45C and 55C, depending on how hard it's being pushed.

Bummer.....

Dunno what to say. The .ini line worked for me on Catalyst 7.4 with my lil' X1650Pro and Windows XP Media Center. I know some other posts talked of how this didn't seem to work for some people, but I don't know if it was ever found out why. Like I said above, I personally had to copy and paste another .ini file, re-naming it as EQ2.ini, because when I tried making a new EQ2.ini file from scratch it kept saving it as .ini.txt. Other than that I have no idea.
