Sup all,

Coming back to EQ2, and my lvl 50 Ranger, after a 2 year hiatus (well, i did play pvp for a month when the servers went live, but didn't touch the 50). When I left, Bloodlines was the newest addition; so KoS, DoF, and Eof are all new to me. I've bought them and am in the process of patching up.

My question to you all is, as a non-guilded level 50, what should be my first destination for finding pugs? And how do I get there

Any other advice you may have for a lvl 50 noob, please do share.

Thanks in advance,

Ijiamee

run around all the new zones you can for discovery xp (check out your Achievement Abilities) and doing as many quick solo quests as you can find.

Head for Sinking Sands and do quests and pick up shinies. Go to Majdul and do the faction quest lines - Blades, Coin and Truth.

Once you known the zones most groups tend to be in dungeons / instances.

Try and get to 58 ish asap and hit Tenebrous Tangle and the dungeon Sanctum of Scaleborn which is usually very popular because of some nice quest lines in there.

Thanks guys, I'll heed your advice. A little adventuring around and seeing new sights doesn't sound all that bad, neither does a trip to Cazic for old time's sake.

The trouble with re-activating old characters is that leveling your AA's is going to be a big PITA.

Kill names and do every quest you can find, even if you have to mentor down.

Good Luck.

Also when trying to catch up with AA points it helps to trun combat exp off. You will still levell fairly quickly, but it allows you to complete more AA giving quests and kill more AA giving nameds before they grey out.

P.S.

If you plan on re-activating the Naggy toon - do yourself a favor and spend a couple hours in the PvP forums - sure there's lots of complaining and whining going on there - but overall you should start to get a picture of what you are getting into. Things ARE different than they were when you left.

Grouping is no longer what it used to be. In fact you would be better off solo'ing until you get caught up on AA's. Head to steamfront and try to get those quests finished before you grey them out. The Mines of Melrith is a good group instance to run if you need low 50s gear. Scornfeather Roost is good for mid 50s gear. Be sure to run the solo quests in Lesser Faydark so you can have a good amount of AAs before you hit 60. Also try to do all the Lore and Legend quests before you hit 60 so can have master strikes. Start working on the claymore questline which you need to start early because it takes forever and a day. In your 60s just grind through SoS while working for claymore updates. Hit up Achadechism for loot in the low 60s and move on to move on to Valdoons and Obelisk in the upper 60s. That's about all there is to it.

They changed the lore and legends quests a number of months ago to give the master strike for that creature type. They also combined all the master strikes into one icon, which saves a lot of hotbar space.
