Question about Str line / no weapons

<p>Just a quick question (probably a dumb one) about going down the Str line and not using any weapons at all.  I have read that this is the best way to level as your fists then act as near-Fabled weapons, as well as having the benefit of not having to upgrade weapons every so often.  However, it seems that when I fight without any weapons equipped, I only attack with one hand and not both.</p><p>/weaponstats only shows stats for Primary and Ranged (as opposed to when I have weapons equipped it shows Primary, Secondary, and Ranged).  Also, looking at the combat log while fighting seems to show that I am only attacking with one hand.  Primary is 2.5 delay so I can time it from there, and the only time two attacks show up is when the "proc" from the 3rd level Str achievement goes off for a double attack.</p><p>As well, it seems as if my fights go a LOT better when I equip weapons rather than go bare fisted.  Just seems as if enemies drop faster.</p><p>Am I doing something wrong, or is it normal to only attack with one hand while unarmed?</p>

Max out the 3rd skill in the str aa  (relentless punches) with 8 points and then you will have a 96% chance to double attack.  If you have less than that then that would explain your less than stellar bare handed attacks.

Ok, I understand that a 96% chance to double attack will greatly improve my performance, but I suppose my main question is should I be attacking with both fists, or just Primary?  I am assuming just Primary as that's all that shows up in /weaponstats, but I was hoping for a definite answer.  It's more an aesthetic thing than anything, my "vision" of a brawler (Bruiser/Monk) is to attack with both hands which is why I'm leaning to using fist weapons rather than bare fists if that is in fact the case (pure performance/dps be damned, lol). I seem to recall that the reason for you seeing just the primary hand damage is that bare hands count as a 2h weapon. no idea why. seroiusly.
