Would you cancel your cable because you have to sit through commercials?

Would you stop checking your mailbox because it might contain junk mail?

I think we need to start coming to terms with two truths:

1) SOE is aware of the problem.

2) Gold farmers will continue to thrive till legislation (here and abroad) is passed prohibiting this business practice and/or a completely new economic model is introduced into the MMO market.

Everyone is mentioning the lawsuit Blizzard filed against Peons4hire, but they're not actually suing them for plat farming, they're suing them for spamming. There are stipulations in place, and if it does actually go to court, this is a somewhat precedent-setting federal case and as such will take months and months and months.

Until this case is settled, things will continue on in this manner. SOE is most likely watching this case very closely and will wait for a verdict. If Blizzard wins, SOE, Turbine, and other MMO companies will begin filing their own lawsuits and within a few months things will change rapidly.

But until then, we don't need ANY MORE of these threads.

and who appointed YOU spokesperson ..

I dont sit through commercials i dont get commercials by snailmail ( in denmark youre protected by law against it)

my emails only show mails from people on my contact lists and i dont watch tv stations that carry commercials

during the shows ..

It's my right not to be manipulated and i can take any action to avoid it as i see fit that includes skipping online

games that wont protect me against commercials i dont chose to accept.

Speak for yourself when you talk to me about what "we" should accept . .I for one do not accept it ..

Brorim

Then I'm sure there are some single-player games out there for you.

Listen to what I'm saying:

There are currently no successful MMOs on the market that do not suffer from in-game plat selling.

New threads popping up daily all talking about the same thing is not helping the problem.

Any player threatening to quit, throwing a fit over such small a nuisance, is not a player worth keeping.

So go ahead, [Removed for Content] and moan, or just suck it up, stop stirring the pot, and get back to enjoying the game.

I would bet a great sum of money that nothing will be done till Blizzard vs. Peons4hire is settled.

Stirring the pot ??? lol

I'm not the one causing this . perhaps if you started believing in having rights

you wouldnt be so submissive ..

Using the "because its being done then it's allright " oneliner doesnt make it allright.

i have the right to have this fixed especially because SOE claim all intellectual right

to ingame items and only allow sale of these on their own controlled servers.

Every other sale of ingame money or items are in direct violation with their own

policy. So until and if they change that I / We have the right to see something being

done about the issue . Or else their Aula will hold no validity in any courtroom if they try

to stick it on a player violating some other issue .

In my opinion it's you that should start to demand your rights instead of letting your rights

be walked all over and then comming up with bad excuses for it to be ok .

Brorim

Unfortunately Bromir, there are people on this very board who enjoy the benefits of purchased gold and so are very defensive about their suppliers so you'll get a lot of them trying to put you off complaining about it so they can protect their income.

I agree that something needs to be done about this. One of the facts about all of this is that you only have to do a /who in a zone and you'll find a load of random names with anonymous tags on who are likely to be gold farming bots. Now if I can do this and detect a load of them then why can't SOE?

The /tells are getting out of hand and something needs to be done. But I would suggest you don't let them spoil your enjoyment of this wonderful game.

Oh and for the record, I don't check my e-mails regularly because of the spam i get.

Pr0nos when were you appointed spokesperson???

Nobody has to listen to you omg [Removed for Content], telling op to listen to you and [Removed for Content], plz lol. You dont have to listen (read) these complaint threads. Dont Click On them! why do you do it? Reminding SOE that many of us dont like plat spam is a good thing and you cant shut us up. It doesnt matter that the threads themselves wont solve the problem, just like your effort to shut peoples complaints down will not solve your problem with these threads.

you feel you "have to sit through commercials"? wow lol...and to compare commercial time to random sent spam is silly. oh and the world is biiiig, not all countries and cultures are like yours.

As stated several times before in several threads SOE is aware of the issue.

However the spam is getting out of control.

I guess the decision is yours to make if you wanna stay and give SOE the chance to fix this or move to another game which also suffers from this.

I am sure they will fix this eventually but for now i enjoy the game to much to let these spammers get on my nerves, afterall they are here because several people are using there service. I am more annoyed with those people than with the spammers as they are most likely just trying to make a living. Yes it is illegal but let's be honest who has never done anything illegal ?

This isnt spam this is people being frustrated about the lack of action taken to stop the spam. Spam is a serious problem and it wont go away if we dont keep the preassure up on the DEVS so the know we have a problem with it .. If we were all do things your way we might as well get rid of the police the government the laws and everything else that supports people that are beeing harrased because , hey we all know that crimes exist but why keep pestering us about it because it wont go away ..

And tbh. attacking people for their lack of english skills is the most childish way to respond . Just shows that its arguments youre out of not intelligence.

Brorim

I mean seriously, SoE have put restrictions on 7 day trials and buddy keys so the plat sellers have to buy actual EQ2 accounts at $9.99 a pop. SoE have deleted plat seller accounts and pursued some buyers to the point of accidentally suspending the accounts of innocent players (so hardly a soft touch). This is not a problem that is restricted to just EQ2, all MMO's are affected. So if you want to spit your dummy out, go ahead. We don't need you holding the game to ransom.

Maybe you haven't noticed but the same companies who sell Plat often also sell a 'leveling' service. For $$$ they can take a level 1 character and quickly get it to level 70. These people are experts at levelling characters. So at what level should we start ignoring tells? 10? 20? 70? Whatever limit people adopt the companies will start spamming 1 level higher. Deal with it, or take your fustration out on the Plat seller

1. Cool it 2. There is a 10 page thread on this topic slightly further down the page. Humor the mods and use that instead of creating another thread for me to lock and eventually remove. Thanks.
