<p>Just curious mostly.  I made one to celebrate my return to EQ2 (and gaming in general after almost a year of not playing anything).  <img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/thumbnails/20070530_eq2_arasai_th.jpg" border="0" /></p> <div><a rel="nofollow" href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070530_eq2_arasai_1024.jpg" target="_blank">1024 x 768</a> <div><a rel="nofollow" href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070530_eq2_arasai_1280960.jpg" target="_blank">1280 x 960</a> <a rel="nofollow" href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070530_eq2_arasai_12801024.jpg" target="_blank">1280 x 1024</a></div><a rel="nofollow" href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070530_eq2_arasai_1600.jpg" target="_blank">1600 x 1200</a></div>

Yeah, answering my own post instead of editing, but this is a different wallpaper. Not sure I like it as much.  Probably tried to do too much here.  Blah. <img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/thumbnails/20070531_eq2_eof_th.jpg" border="0"> <div align="left"><a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/2007053_eq2_eof_1024.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1024 x 768</a> <div align="left"><a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/2007053_eq2_eof_1280960.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1280 x 960</a> <a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/2007053_eq2_eof_12801024.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1280 x 1024</a> </div><a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/2007053_eq2_eof_1600.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1600 x 1200</a> </div>

Thanks! I finally got my client patched and updated and took a spin around the test server yesterday.  Got some excellent screenshots inside Neriak that I'm going to have to work with.  I love the look of the whole city!

Used an excellent shot of Mistmoore (friend graciously go it for me since I'm so [Removed for Content]) as a base for this.   I have another view I might turn into a wallpaper as well. <img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/thumbnails/20070705_eq2_mist_th.jpg" border="0"> <a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070705_eq2_mist_1024x768.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1024 x 768</a> <a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070705_eq2_mist_1280x960.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1280 x 960</a> <a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070705_eq2_mist_1280x1024.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1280 x 1024</a> <a href="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_wallpaper/20070705_eq2_mist_1600x1200.jpg" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">1600 x 1200</a>

I've started up playing again and this time, instead of wallpapers (which are hidden in threads far far back on this board, but one could probably find them)  I did a painting of my dirge.  Lines were done off the original screenshot and then I painted a whole new image.  <img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_general/eq2_dirge_darema_sm.jpg" alt="" border="0" />Link to the full size image over on deviantArt is <a href="http://rhyssafireheart.deviantart.com/art/Darema-Half-Elf-Dirge-of-EQ2-69441601" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>.  There is also a link to the original screenshot that I used for the image.  Background... let's not even go there. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />" />Oh, found the wallpaper threads for reference.  <a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=364801" target="_blank">Here</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=370251" target="_blank">here</a>.<b>EDIT 11/20/2007</b> - Changed to the half-size image and added the direct link to the dA image.

Odd replying to myself.  I updated the image because I painted the background in instead of using the screenshot and I made some changes to the character herself.  The overall image was looking too green so I made the dress a darker blue.<img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_general/eq2_dirge_darema2_sm.jpg" alt="" border="0" />Half-size version.  Full size can be found over on my dA account here -->  [ <a href="http://rhyssafireheart.deviantart.com/art/Darema-EQ2-Dirge-v2-0-70179103" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">link</a> ]

The darker blue definitely looks better on you! Have you tried an even darker blue, or black?

I think the darker blue looks better because, this time, you also painted the background. In the previous picture, your dirge looked a little out of place because the background was the original screenshot and in a completely different style than your painting.

She looks awesome. I definitely like the blue over the green. It puts her "in" the picture if you get what I mean. Nice shine on her hair too. Great great work!!!

Thanks!<b>@Chondrichtheyia</b> - I haven't tried any darker colors for her yet.  That particular shade is a result of putting a multiply layer of the original green color over a rather scary bright shade of blue actually.  I might play around some more and see what other colors I can come up with, but I rather like this shade all-in-all.<b>@Sapphirius</b> - The character definitely didn't fit before, that's one reason why I went back in to paint the background and then started reworking the character some more.  The character was too bright for the background and the colors just didn't match.  I can see a few places were the environmental lighting is off some, but it's not enough to make me want to fix it yet again.<b>@Jairy </b>- I'm rather pleased with how the hair turned out on the second go around.  That's one of the hardest things for me to do still.  Read a tutorial about adding shine to hair and it was so easy to do (NOTE - found the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://eq2.lunaclick.net/reference/hairshine.php" target="_blank">tutorial</a>.  It's from Seagoat).   Basically paint the color you want as a highlight on a new layer.  Then put a gaussian blur on it (I blurred it twice) and set to overlay.  Then all you have to do is clean up the blur so it's not on any areas you don't want highlighted and you're set.  First time I've ever tried that technique but it worked perfectly.EDIT - Weird, my text was in different colors.

Great job on the painting you did excellent. I do prefer the second version over the first, because the background fits better to the painted character and the robe and hair look better and fitting in better <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Great job!

<p>Wow, I didn't realize how long it had been since I posted any fanart here.  I went and looked up my <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=391603" target="_blank">previous thread</a> and decided not to resurrect it since the last post was in <strong>November 2007</strong>!  Not sure the mods would forgive a necro that old, even if it is my own thread, LOL!</p><p>Anyways, I did a digital painting of my Arasai fury, Soulrider.  I actually started the image back in August 2008, but just now finished it today.  That's some serious procrastination and reworking right there, let me tell you!</p><p>Here's a small thumbnail that links to the larger deviantart version. </p><p><a href="http://rhyssafireheart.deviantart.com/art/SoulRider-EQ2-Arasai-Fury-113235622" target="_blank"><img src="http://coeurdefeu.com/artgallery/da_general/20080808_soulrider3_th2.jpg" width="400" height="400" /></a></p><p>Enjoy!</p>
