Hiya, If i was to become a melee spec warden would there be any point in upgrading the spells that can be replaced for CA's past apprentice 1? if not then wow less spells to worry about upgrading lol. Thanks in advance

Absolutely, upgrading will still up the damage of the CA and have it get resisted/avoided less.

Only reason to really upgrade the spells after getting the AA alternates is on the off-chance you have to root/nuke something or have to stay out of melee range.
As I get higher level I find myself needing to do ranged damage more and more. Either the mob has an AoE that makes it too dangerous for me to be within range or duoing with a friend I find myself needing to root and nuke. That said, I recommend upgrading your spells and having them on your hot bars as an alternative to the melee options. I actually created an identical bar to my melee bar and load it up if I find myself in these situations. My "caster" bar is #8 so I just hit shift-8 to go to caster bar and when done I hit shift-1 to go back to my regular "melee" bar.

From having been convinced that Melee was 'it' - then going back to nuking cause it's more practical ...I'm sure glad all my nukes were M1 before I didn't upgrade them when I melee spec'd.

I vote for upgrading ALL your spells to the best of your ability. You just never know when you are going to want to change, and you will not be hit so hard if you have stayed caught up.
