Hi everyone

Bit of a starter question. My Monk is level 35 now and I've played the game really by crashing through and killing all in my path. I've just got the Devastating Fist skill which I'm quite eager to try out. As I level up I'm starting to adopt a more strategic approach. I'm starting to Tank more for my friends (Warden and Wizard...so it's a fairly important role) but my mitigation is only 36 (according to the station players site) and my avoidance is also quite low. I've got up to date armour so I though it must be something to do with my stances.

Can anyone let me know what stances I should be using in order to be an effective tank but also do my fair share of damage? Any other strategic hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers All

Eq2players is kinda messed up, you should check your stats in game. For tanking, if you're playing with your warden friend, be sure to ask for the +crush/slash/pierce buff, with that you can stay in defensive stance + everburning flame without any kind of problems. Until you get the hybrid stance (lvl 44) I think it's better to start in offensive in order to build your aggro, then switch to defensive if you're taking too much damage. General advices : don't forget to use dragon stance (the taunt proc), use your ae and group taunt at the beginning of the fight (ae + storming palms help with multiple mobs), use your taunts whenever they're up and keep a stun or two if things go wrong. If needed (ie : crazy warlock in the group) cycle through the mobs to keep aggro.

also, get as much sta and mitigation as u can get. Currently avoidance just isn't worth trying to focus on, so try to get as high hp and and mit as u can and u should be able to survive much more effectively.
