I noticed as a level 70 player if I go into a newbie zone and get the flash and the message

"you discovered such and such place" I look at my AA XP and it has not moved?

Why is that? Cause it's a low level place?

How about zones that really are not level based such as city zones

I know as an Assassin I ran though that good city and got the discovery message and once again I did not get XP ....or maybe I did but it is such a small amount its not enough to push the bar at all
What is the criteria that you need to meet to actually get discovery

AFAIK the discovery points in the cities do not give AA

Just not your home city.

I just took my Freeport Shadowknight through Neriak and got discovery AA through the whole city.

But to answer the OP, Location discovery AA xp is very small even at lower levels, so that may also be the case for you not noticing any gain. For example, the above mentioned Shadowknight is only lvl16 with 10 AA's. I only got 2% on average AA gain per location discovery in Neriak. Then I took him to Nektulos and only got about 2%there also. I ran to the docks, took the bell to EL and only 2.5% there for the few locations that I could actually make it too.

So if a level 16 is only getting that much, I would figure that there is some form if "outleveling" a zone for reduced Discovery AA , if you are much higher level than the zone itself.

These are only quick observations, so I may be wrong in my assumption. If anyone knows, please correct me.

This has been something I've been curious about as well. If it does in fact outdate, then I assume it would be best to go around exploring high level areas as soon as you possibly are able to, so as to get the most AA out of it. Does it work this way with AA for turning in collections, or killing nameds as well?

I believe that the percentage of AP XP earned from Point of Interest (PoI) discoveries is dependent on your current AP level -- not your adventurer level.

So a level 70 adventurer with 10 AP's would earn far more -- as a percentage -- than one with 50 AP's for discovering the same PoI. The actual amount of AP XP would be the same, however. The percentage is smaller for the character with more AP's because it, like just about everything else, requires more XP per level at higher levels.

So, I am really curious as to how it works now.

Is there anyone who has a definitive answer on this?
