If you invest in a fabled level 40 weapon and armor pieces and jewerly can it last you into the 60's. I saw some very nice stats that seemed far better on the level 40 fabled gear than the level 50-60 armor sets etc.

Jewelry and hammer etc. Sorry dont have the names of the gear I saw offhand. I was just curious how twinking fully works in eq2. If its grey but has better stats than the level 60 gear. Will it still be effective even though it will con grey to you?

The stats might be better on the fabled gear but the mitigation is probably alot lower the mastercrafted gear for example, but i think grey or blue items with exactly the same stats (including mitigation) will be the same, it used to be different when gearcollor mattered but they changed that.

Thanks for the advise. I noticed the fable shield i got had 900 mitigation at level 40. Im pretty sure it will last for quite a bit it also had like 40 points in health and power etc. I saw a level 67 with a 1k mitigation shield with not even near the stats as mine. So i figured it might be good.

Thank god they changed the gear color mattering.

Shields don't have mitigation, they increase your avoidance. i don't know how it works with shields, however mitigation on armor decays with every level, that means for example a level 50 breastplate with 400 miti gives you less effective(%)-miti then a level 51 bp with the same miti.

Somebody once posted a formula in the old forums, simplified its something like effectiv mitigation = mitigation * item-level / player-level

I see so the mitigation will go down from level 40-60 for every level. That still exists? Because a shield does have mitigation. Im unsure how that works either.

Any shield that says + save vs slashing crushing or pierceing gives you MIT. My shield gives me 143 sv s/c/p so it boosts my mit by 143.
