I recently started a coercer (love it, level 20 atm) and I was told by a level 70 that the power of mind buff can have an effect on charm.

I found that weird so I released my pet and rooted it, I then checked its current buffs (though I dont know if the game shows all buffs).

I messed dispelled it even though I saw nothing and then recharmed it. The buff comes back once you charm but isnt there when you lose charm, so is this advice seem sound?

No one knows?

Well let me rephrase: Has anyone ever had problems with charm noticeably after using this buff? I dont see how it would, the mob doesnt have the buff when its not charmed and the buff says mental dmg. As I said, I havent been here long, but it would seem to me that mental dmg has nothing to do with charm vs mob. I would think thats decided purely on mob level and if the mob has a specific charm resist.

It has no effect on charmed pets.----I /bugged it for months, then in a patch message they mentioned it no longer will effect charm breakage rate (if it ever did).--I don't know the patch it was in, but I believe it was around a year ago.

I remember seeing that update note. I'm still a firm believer though that other group member's mental resist buffs boost your pet's resists. I can't hold a pet with a cleric in the group.

It definatly affects charm, becouse it adds + to mental resist. A charmed mob makes a mental resist check every few ticks to check if the charm breaks. and the higher the mental resist of the mob the higher the chance you charm will break. You can ignore this is the mobs are green but otherwise i would cancel the buff while you have a pet.

icemini read the posts before - it no longer affects charmed mobs, they changed it in a patch.
