View Full Version : Selling items for status in Neriak?

You know those treasured items, the ones that say they would be of value to a guild of X (Scouts, Priests, etc)? You then take them and sell them to, for instance, a certain NPC in the Academy of Arcane Science in Freeport and you get a couple hundred status and some measly copper for each item. Are there NPCs in Neriak that do the same?

I've looked all over the darn city since I became a Neriak citizen and cannot find anyone looking to buy them in return for status. I've been to the Spires of Innoruuk (Neriak "Priest guild" ) as well as the K'Lorn Library (Neriak "Mage guild" ) and can't find anyone who will buy and sell outside of the class trainers who offer the App2 spells.

If anyone knows of who to sell these things to for status, I'd certainly appreciate the information as they've been steadily collecting in my inventory and I'd rather not waste them by selling to a normal merchant.

Thanks in advance!

There's an NPC in Neriak that buys all status items called the Guild Merchant. He is in the guild hall next to the bank, just ask a guard for "guild" and he'll direct you. You gain faction with the City of Neriak, though, not individual factions (priest, mage, etc.)

Thanks for the answer! I knew that there was just the one city faction, as I remember reading a thread last week in which a developer was discussing writs and how Neriak uses a "new system" where you do writs for the city, rather than each individual faction.

I wish that they used an individual faction system like Freeport where The Dead, etc were all raisable/lowerable seperately but eh... I won't complain. Just so long as I can sell my status items, I'll be happy enough.

To further this discussion , are there any titles associated with earning Neriak City faction? I haven't checked out the writs yet, but I was wondering if anyone knew?

Well at least for t7 I've only seen one writ giver and that would be The Dead. The other houses aren't giving me anything yet. There's no neriak specific titles yet as far as I can see. The titles available from the city merchant have been copied over from Freeport. *sighs*

The zealot or whatever his title was.

So it sounds as if we will still have to go to Freeport to get writs huh? How lame. A new city should have writ givers just like Kelethin got. I understand they are trying out a new system for the status items but I shouldn't have to go to another city to get my writs.

There is at least one writ giver in Neriak for T2 writs so, I assume, there are others for T3 - T7. The writ giver I'm familiar with is just outside the Indigo Brotherhood's fortress. The fortress is called something else (which I don't remember atm) and appears as a tower icon on your map.

I think you can only get one writ at a time from neriak. I did like the way it asked you if you wanted to go to EoF or KoS to do your writs, but that is about all that i noticed to be different.

The writs and their givers are progressional (so not a word so I'm making it up cuz it fits). Basically, from 10-20 you get your writs from a single NPC outside the Indigo Brotherhood. Once you hit 20 he sends you to your next writ giver in the Library. I'm sure as you continue up in your levels you will be shuffled off to various other NPCs who handle a level range worth of writs throughout the city. So the "only writ giver" you are able to access is factually, the only writ giver for your level range. HTH

I can't say if the adventuring writs work the same way yet but I'll know after work today.

How far can you raise your Neriak city faction? past 40k?

AFAIK I can only raise my Freeport faction up to 40k, Is there another person in Freeport that I can see to raise city faction? ie via writs or hand in tokens?

I presume a Freeport city can also rais eNeriak Faction?

Cheers
