Anyone else out there that thinks this would be a good idea? Keeping the betrayal quest useful on PVE servers you can make the selections limited to your alignment unless you have completed the betrayal wich will give you selection of all the races.

I really hate the way my clothing fits on my woodelf assassin the hood looks like it belongs on a much larger model and it looks perfect on the human with the help of the Pertified Human Eye.

Does anyone know if it is possible to petition or buy one of these already like the name changes?

this, is a subject thats going to get flamed. no there is no race respec, and there never will be. there has never been a MMO that allowed this.

This should only apply to Male Iksars I don't know what I was thinking when I made this ugly race, they were much cooler looking in EQ1.

Solution: Make a new toon with the race, class, flavor, color, etc... you like, level him up to your existing character. Delete your existing character and then request your new toon be renamed to your old toons name.

Viola! Race respec complete!

isn´t there already a mirror of remake (3 years reward) that allow you to respec race?

Zergosch wrote:
isn´t there already a mirror of remake (3 years reward) that allow you to respec race?
become a new race....nooo, you could respec your racials but not your race lol Ok so becoming a new class is fine but becoming a new race is weird...a race isn't just for stats, its for looks people know you as a High Elf or a fae or a human changing races ruins the game it would make absolutely NO sense to change to a different race. believe it or not these MMOs have stories they arent all about LAWL STATZ. and like it or not the games are gonna stick to their stories if you want random killing you need UT or CS but here story rules over mechanics (unless slight modifications can be made to fit them in) changing race is out right wrong though

Theres an expensive way to change your race. Buy one of those eyeball thingies and buy the bones for it, and you will be changed into that race for a short amount of time. Or you could get the mask that turns you into a dark elf. Its a heritage quest in Nek Castle.

Reroll... Generally speaking I would know by level 30 if a race/class combination is working for me. 30 isn't hard. If you suddenly get to 70 and think... hmmm I really don't like being a troll so much after all and much rather be a cute little woodelf. I'm sorry but what were you thinking? I suppose it could be justified but if you allow that why not allow gender and class respecs? I play it safe. I still to races I like (Wood Elf, Fae, Arasai, Half Elf, Dark Elf, and High Elf).

Currently what im doing is Leveling a new toon in the race I want. I use the petrified human eye when ever im playing my main. I'm just waiting for the skeleton revamp maybe then my armor will fit correctly then I won't have to mess with it any more.

I use the mask myself when in raid, cause being a gnome, sometimes i'm not tall enough to see whats going on.

The probelm is that these illusion form are disabled when on a mount wich I think serve absolutly no purpose.

I wouldn't mind a race respec either. Rerolling is the easy way, but I like what I've achieved (questlines, discoveries, tradeskill,...) with the character, but suddenly the race became a bigger and bigger onstacle and it ended up in the freezer. Rerolling also means, you've to disband from your friends, as they will continue in the higher tiers... I don't see why they shouldn't make it possible. There's so many things in game that have changed and made me wonder "why?" But it's still only a game, so they might as well make it possible.

I can see it makes "no sense" in changing race, as it's as much as a sex operation, it would never happen, but after all it's a game here and everybody can make a mistake and I think it would make several players feel better about their toon instead having it deleted. You mention it as an ability for the EQ character, i would mention it as a option for the player.

When you play for so long with a toon that it would be "a pain" to reroll and level up to the same level as before one can be reasonably sure that you like that toon. Its not that the characters change their appearance when reaching level 70. A troll is as ugly with max level than it was with level 1.

But in reality clothing is not tied to your race, nor is it tied to your gender. Try putting on male clothing when your female, it changes to a female version. You don't buy half elf armor, nor do you buy gnome. Changing race would be nothing more than a respec and as long as you picked one from the same starting city, so your class would not have to change you would be fine lore wise, Infact I would bet the field is nothing more than a number 1-25 (or how ever many races we have now) and a separate one for gender, both used to "build" your visual character, and to choose the bonuses you get to select from for racial traits. I would do it in a heart beat, even if they required me to pay a sum of money to choose my race/sex over.

Soo... You've gone and made a character and you've played it to 70, got your trade skills to 70, got all your masters, got 3 changes of fabled armor and equipment. Now you've decided... Well I don't really like being a rat after all. If only I were a beautiful wood elf instead I could be happier. So instead of starting over you want to be changed by the powers that be from a rat to a wood elf. I really see no justification for that. If they allow that why not allow class respecs with no loss of spells or equipment or long quests (which actually I'm against betraying as well). I see no problem with having people start a new character in the race that they prefer and starting over. It really doesn't take that long to level even if you play casually. Several classes already have illusions that can "permanently" alter your race. Dirge, Troub, Brigand, Swash, Illusionist, and Coercer. I think giving other classes perm racial illusions would be bad as well. Too much degradation of class distinction as is.

i have no problem leveling up the same class with another race to be able to change, it's just that i can't transfer all my fabled gear from one to the other, so i am screwed, can't just exchange my raiding char with a [Removed for Content] twink and think the other members like it. and comparing a race respec to a class respec is a bad joke, the class defines everything you are, race is visual only.

To others, it means a little bit more than a graphic of pixels. =)And as I've stated (perhaps even in this thread o_o ) , even if they allowed it, would you have to betray your Ratonga Brigand to a Ratonga Swashy before you could have an out-of-body experience and become Wood Elf Swashy, then betray back to Brigand? What if you could start a dwarf guardian in Qeynos, and then go BAM! Ogre guardian in Qeynos? It just makes no sense in that respect.Basicly, how do you deal with class and race alignments/restrictions?
