Every person's definition is different. If you only play an hour or two a week, don't get into groups or do instances ever, then, yes, you probably would only be able to get one of those to 70 by August.. maybe.

You can effectively double your rate of experience gain if you concentrate on keeping a full quest journal and killing mobs that are related to the quests you're working. Not only that but you will gain AA hand over fist, and that is very important later in the game. Granted, I go to the extreme of <i>never </i>turning on combat experience and getting xp only from questing. This causes me to level very slowly but I have a toon right now with 80AA at level 44. It has taken a lot of time to do that, and it's not for everybody but it is something I'm proud of. Since you're more interested in getting level 60+, you should still take as many quests as you can, concentrate on finishing them before they go green, and then just delete the ones you outlevel. You'll still get plenty of AA that way, and level faster. I thought I'd bring this up for your consideration. If you still choose not to do quests then I would think with your playtime you could get two of those toons to 60 or higher if you don't waste too much time in LFG not doing anything. If you do start questing I think you could get all three of them there or at least close.

<p>so quest are the secret to lvling?</p>

hardly a secret since its everquest, but, yes, having quests doubles your xp essentially as a previous poster wrote. you get xp for the creatures you kill and then you get xp and a monetary or item reward. definately the best way to go. of course, most people throw an instance or dungeon crawl into their leveling, which doesnt always equate to constantly working on a quest, but it usually does. check eq2i.com and look at their solo or heroic timelines for a good guide on where to level and what quests to get.

Then head over to the broker and try to complete as many collections as possible. Some collections are really cheap.</p><p>When you get him to 52, head over to Tenebrous Tangle and start the basket quests and the gathering quests on the bottom of the waterfall. Completing every set of baskket quests will net you 2-3 levels of exp and about 3 plat in quest rewards. You can complete them all in about 4 hours solo.</p><p>There are a ton of quests you can do in EoF and KoS from level 55 onward. For every quest mob you kill, you will get three times the exp back for completing the quest. I did a level a night from 55 to 70 mostly solo just doing quests.</p>

Whats the hurry? Unless you're I dont know, on death row or something... forget about your level. It isnt a race. There's cool and interesting stuff to do at every tier with a wealth of different quests and dungeons and mobs to see and kill. 3 characters? 2? 1? - it doesnt matter. Play for the enjoyment of the game, not some artificial number. The accomplishment is not getting to level 70, its what you did and how you did it that validates the acheivement. My advice - forget what level you are (until u need to re-gear of course) and just go out and about in Norrath, quest, stop and read the quest text, and enjoy the game. Maybe you are on some kind of time budget =- going back to school, enlisting in the army or something - it doesnt matter. You get there when you get there. I took a loooong time to hit 70 - but I feel like I squeezed as much fun as possible out of levels 1-69. There's great stuff in those levels - dont miss it.</span></p><p><span style="color: #ffff00">'nuff said.</span></p><p><span style="color: #ffff00">Edit: Also - yeah you can level by standing still and turning in collections- but thats kinda lame isnt it? What have u really achieved? Yay! I spent enough coin to buy a level (or 30) where's the fun in that?</span></p>

<p>Quest quest quest!!!</p><p>Like someone else mentioned... why not get extra credit?</p><p>I mean, if there's a quest to kill 10 snakes... and you were going to kill 10 snakes anyway... why not get the quest. Gives you some extra coin, maybe gear, and XP!!</p>

One warning about Leveling by Collections, you will level up, but your skills will not.. you could find yourself in real trouble if you do too many levels by collection, your defense will be horrible and you may not hit anything.

<p>You could do what I am going to do once I get the last 2 levels on my main toon for 70. (taken over 3 years to get there but its been worth the trip). Once I get my main toon to 70 just going to farm t7 collections and give them to my new toon (25 conjie). The end effect should or used to be rocketing up at least 20 levels if not more in a few minutes. Why do this you may ask. I don't feel like grinding the old fashioned way to t7 and once I hit t7 with my conjie that will just give my guild another assest to use on raids.</p><p> There is the above mentioned downfall to this method. I am willing to accept that as you can grind up skills prety quick. My main a zerker went from 0 to 300 something agression in like 3 hours of just grouping and killing stuff.</p>

Other skills doesnt work like that. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Good point, its going to take a while for that toon to get raid geared anyway, plenty of time to rack up aa and skills.

You said you want to raid... then you should drop your SK. The chances to raid with your SK a very, very slim.

well, I played my 51 necro the past two days...about 8 hours total maybe??? and with 100% vitality got him to within 10% of 53...that was mainly grouping through perma and doing some solo quests in SS... Since you have 3 characters and don't play nonstop, I would switch between characters and only play when you have vitality. This will cut your leveling time in half. And as said before, QUEST!!!. They give lots of xp, often more than if you grinding for the same amount of time in a group. Also quests make the game much more fun and engaging...griding can get dull very quickly. The perma group I was in was a blast too because we did the whole Blow the Horn quest line...which is a chain of about 8 quests or something... I doubt you will get all 3 to 60, but to 55? maybe...

<p>If raiding is what you want to do, I suggest leveling your wizard up to 70 with 100 AAs before you even think about logging on either of the other two characters (the wizard because it is the highest level of the three). Do as many short quests as you can find, and turn them in while they are still green at least, blue+ if possable.</p><p>Once you have that character at 70/100, think about the other 2 toons. Basically, if you want to raid, get a character up to raiding level, dont screw around with alts and stuff... get a character up there.</p>

I don't know about everyone else, but from 60-70 was about the easiest 10 levels since the 1-10. I got from 60 to 64 in 1 day, 64-67 in one day, 67-68 in one day, 68-70 in one day. I personally found the 40-50 range the most difficult (read: boring). Once you hit about 55-58 you should start the claymore line, and just follow those quests while leveling, they provide you with excellent EXP and some good (actually very good) equipment, and if you ever decide to join a raiding alliance you can get some of the more amazing equipment in the game (both great looking and great stats). Edit: Oh yeah, and with doing the claymore line, if you start it at 57ish, by the time you're done you'll be 70 with several AA's.

Also don't be under the impression that as soon as you hit level 55 you'll be in raids all the time - yeah you can group with 70s, but you won't be able to hit anything for [Removed for Content]. The best way to level and get AA is to do the quest lines in the EoF side of the game. BB at 20ish, SF at 35ish, Lfay at 50ish, loping plains at 60ish.. there are enough quests in there to keep a casual player happy, and when you get bored just slap on /lfg and get the AA from the dungeons and instances you haven't done yet. I have a level 70 pally who easily got 100 AAs a few weeks after he got to 70 (which took me about 3 months), and am currently levelling a coercer who is level 62 with 88 AAs. Yeah I could have more AAs if I had done EVERYTHING, but by the time i get to 70 I will have 100. I've been playing the coercer for around 2 months. AAs are extremely important and if you level to 70 and you've only got 40 you'll have a hard time getting the other 60 with 60% of the game's quests greyed out. Levelling by collections is fast, but as was mentoined before, your skills don't go up automatically. You will be having a very hard time hitting mobs with spells and physical damage for a while until your skills are up to scratch.

<p>If you want to raid, do not focus on XP level. Instead focus, and I mean FOCUS, on AA. Pour all of your energy/time into AA level, and the XP levels will come naturally (the opposite can not be said). </p><p>The difference between 100 AA and 50 AA in a raid setting is huge.</p><p>Bottom line: do every quest you can get your hands on.</p><p>Edit: I see all these "XP grind" groups and I really feel sorry for them. They just don't get it. Of course, the bad part of an AA-centric game is that there is really no need to grp until claymore. </p>
