I never really made it far to the game like level 10 then i deleted it, but this was way back then. Now EQ2 made some very positive changes and iam bored from WoW, EQ2 seems to have alot ot offer but im quiet worried about the population, im the type of guy that loves to group, i also will be joining the server AB since its the most populated and i like to RP also but how is the population through out the levels? Will i be able to find groups for splitpaw and such? Thanks in advance!

I've been on for a couple months now; this is the first game of its type I've ever stuck with. That said, I've not noticed any lack of people grouping and looking for groups. I don't play on AB at all, but stick to Mistmoore.

I can't comment on the server you are joining since I am on Nektulos, but as for the state of the game in general I think you will love coming back. You will find that upgrades for your toon will cost much more now than they would have before the introduction of transmuting, but you can also use that to your advantage to make money for yourself. Any treasured or higher weapons, armor and spells that you can't use can pretty much be sold on the broker for a few gold at least. If you go slowly and get most of your xp from quests then you will have lots of AA points to spend and enough money or harvested rares to at least gear yourself in mastercrafted and adept 3s for your important spells. With Neriak having just been rolled out, there are tons of people leveling up new alts, so grouping in the low levels will be fairly easy, I would think. So, you shouldn't find yourself starved for groups.

Never too lat eto come back, IMHO. The game hs gotten bigger and better. AB is still full of lots of great RP folks; my toon their never has trouble getting a group and she is only in her mid-20's.

Never too late, as I joined EQ for the 1st time yesterday!

EQ2 has made changes both good and bad imho. Do the good changes dwarf the bad changes? No and I think it is a pretty mixed bag which most can agree on.

Soloing: Pretty much the same with a few changes to how much xp you receive from mob kills. With AAs it is easier to xp some of the time while harder. (Some things were majorly nerfed when AAs hit and we get them back with AAs which kinda sucks.)

Grouping: Alot of good group zones that offer a range of loot. KoS zones can be a mixed bag where you get nothing but crap or all legendary drops.

Raiding: New Tactics, New Mobs, what else can I say about this. I'm not a heavy 5-8 time a week raider, but I do manage to see some action and get some good loot. Did Labs raid yesterday and got me the Animist Mantle for my warden.

As for "Is It Too Late?" no there isn't a time where it is too late for a player to join. EQ2 from the way I have seen it is setup so that an incoming player can get right into the action or ease themselves in a little at a time. Only been 4 days and now have a level 19 Arasai Brigand that I just created. With that toon I am "Casually" leveling him up vs. hard core grinding.

Definitely not too late to come back I will say tho, if LFG isn't working out, start your own group & no being shy
eh you can join any mmo at any time doesnt matter how long the games been there. wow, eq1, eq2, ffxi vanguard, all the same to start on 1 and play. As for grouping since all the pve servers load light unless ur a needed class like maybe a real tank, or a healer dont expect the invites to be flying in because theres probably a dime a few hundred of any type of dps class. And since they're basically all the same from being mashed together classes really dont have a preferance over another unless your raiding. Hell even then if you can dps u'll just be slapped in a grp with the others. However they did make the game solo oriented which is probably why most people don't get grps but just solo heroics so either way you can still kill mobs over and over again.

I'm on Permafrost (Ceciliantis, baby!), and there are always groups rolling through dungeons, etc. Edit: no, I'm not Cecil.

If our guild is any indication, levels are very well spread out throughout the whole population. On a given night I regularly see a great many people of all levels come on. I suspect that this is because EQ2 allows us such a variety of alts. (As opposed to say Star Wars Galaxies where you are only allowed one and virtually everyone running around is level capped.)

If you come back to AB, look me up, my name there is Kaalenarc, my guild is the Blackhawks.
EQ2 has changed quite a bit since it began. Growing pains aside, its a better place to be now. As far as MMO's in general, IMHO, EQ2 has a depth and stability of various levels that the other online games have yet to attain.

AB server is a good place to be. Kaal is a nice bear-daddy, too.

I just came back about a month ago myself and play on AB. There are still plenty of lower level characters, especially since they just released neriak and the arasai this last week. Game is much, much better than it used to be.

pssssshhhhh its never too late! I did some /who on all of the tiers on the Unrest server today and most tiers had around 80 people in them at around 8PM Central (posting on sunday) the 70s were also very top heavy... anyways there were probabbly 800-1000 people on. You should be fine here.

I'm also on Antonia Bayle, and I can gladly say that it is very group and solo friendly.

You should have no problem getting a group on it, especially with the NEW LFG Tool.

After level 60 though...groups may become alittle scarcer depending on class. I myself a lvl 66 fighter and I rarely get a group invite. Dunno why...maybe being a guildless player make people not wanna group with you or maybe it's cause I'm not decked out in fable?

Anyways Ab is a veyr open and friendly server, if you have trouble getting groups and are into guilds you'll find a guild that will gladly fill your grouping needs!

Welcome back!

Its never too late to come back btw. I came back soon after AAs and etc as a lvl 60 character...it was alittle rough seeing as this game is deeper and more difficult than WoW but soon I was back on my feet and ready to get back into the grind and quests!

Plus the game is really pretty good at getting you up in levels to catch up to people that are higher. Right now is a particularily good time for new/returning players. With the addition of Neriak and the Arasi (evil Fae) last week there is an abundance of lower level characters out in the world right now.

With a recently released new race, and another coming in November, it's definitely not too late.

no it's not to late come back! i recently came back to the game myself in feb and enjoying it alot.

i don't think one has to worry about server population much i know on lucen it pretty easy finding a group regaurdlees of the level and we have some great guilds here. sometimes if feels server is lacking people but i think it more due to with dof , kos, eof. along with all the new instances and such i think people are just more spread out on the servers now than before plus people now live one of 5 cities soon six. but alot of people talking in open chat looking for groups and such. so there more people playing thanit feels like attimes depending where you are at in game
