I've noticed that newer zones and newer NPCs no longer use audible dialogue.

Has SOE decided to no longer implement this feature?

I loved listening to the NPCs as I read along, offering quests and such.

It sort of hurts the immersion factor that not all of the NPCs "speak" their dialogue.

I know a feature like this is costly and time consuming, but everyone seems to really enjoy it.

Any chance of it making a come back? Say maybe something like an "Adventure Pack" that is nothing but spoken dialogue for all those many NPCs that don't have any.

a lot of quest mobs in neriak do talk... and a lot of faydwer do as well... The problem is that most quest diaglogs change and they normaly don't start recording voices until the quest dialog is set in stone. This happens very very very late in the process so a lot of npc will either not get voices or get them after the content has come out.

Try crafting in Neriak, there are these two dark elves running around the place complaining about spices and the inferior races that have entered neriak...

Just curious. Do 'Reverend Valac' , 'Scapulus the Muddled' and the 'Eliha, Scion of the Dead' have their own voice-over?

If not, it's sad. Very sad

Before login in, check your pref and see if you have NPC voice clicked on

Well, if I'm remembering right, all the quest NPCs in the new newbie area in Darklight Woods have voiceovers. They send you out to T'Vatar (I think that was the name) Camp and I remember voices there also, but at Wanderlust Fair they stopped. So it's not like voices were original release only and stopped, but as suggested above, it's probably the last thing that is done.

I find that there is nearly no voice over audio for NPCs in DoF and KoS. They've gotten better at it, and a lot of NPCs in EoF and Neriak speak with GREAT voice over. As a rule of thumb, stuff that came in at launch, or after KOS has a good chance of being voiced. That's been my experience anyway. There's one NPC in Neriak who is a little insane, and wants to be one of those DE/spider hybrids. Her quest dialogue has great VO. But there's other gems in Neriak and EoF too!
