Blizzard Sues platspammer, who wont SoE get off its backside and do the same

WoW players have it easy how, the devs have introduced filtering and have gone after the plat spammers while SoE do nothing. <p>Obviously, Peons4Hire is incorporated somewhere that American federal laws apply. That makes them different from most other gold-spamming sites, which are not accessible under U.S. law.</p><p>My nephew has been playing WoW lately, & tells me the gold-spam he gets there is far worse than it was in EQ2.</p>

Sony China is incorporated in China and has legal presence to file court action against gm-[Removed for Content]-master.com in Chinese courts. Court location comes down to symantecs in the end.

<p>While I hate gold spammers as much as the next guy, I think you don't realize how difficult it is to stop this kind of stuff.  And World of Warcraft does have it much worse then EQ2 I've found being a former WoW player for nearly 2 years.  </p><p>Court juristiction is also not sillness and often takes a fleet of lawyers to figure out.  For example, did the violation occur here in or in china.  They sent the tell and collected the gold in china, but that is not a crime.  Its not a against the ELUA till they send you a tell asking to buy gold, which makes you a victim in sorts.  So, as the victim does that transfer juristiction to where you live?  As you know crimes are based off where the crime occured, no prepared.</p>
