So, I just re-subscribed and I have to say the game has improved immensely since those first days. I have a question though, I was thinking it would be best to just start a new character from scratch to experience all the changes. Currently, as far as fighter classes is concerned, which is consider the best soloer right now? I was thinking of trying a fighter this time around. Thanks for any input! F

See if you can jump back into your character... dieing is only a minor inconvenience now. If you cannot jump back in, then make a new character. but don't delete your old one, you may find that you want to play him/her again.

Nod, I might try that. I do admit that I did feel a bit lost when I logged in. I still had lots of the old sub-combines for example. I may just start a new character and see how that goes. F

The top soloers who are fighters. Bruiser, Sk, Monk, Pally. (I think thats about the order of em, some may argue). Everyone can solo but guard / zerkers have hard time soloing heroics which all 4 of those i know can solo heroics.

I got one of each kind, Warrior, Crusader and Brawler.

I mostly soloed with my Berserker up to about 60 I think it was, then changed my playstyle to only really wanting to do anything with my friends in a group. I didn't power along in a deliberately swift race to get to 70, but the last ten levels went faster than I wanted. I quest, and there's good exp' in that. Whatever playstyle, solo or group, there's enough variety to ensure you're killing mobs than con with a colour other than grey. Still, with several AE's the Zerker does well against groups rather than single targets with an overabundance of ^.

I've never really managed to get to grips with my Paladin. The fact many of the their abilities are spells rather than combat arts gives me the occasional problem, I don't play spell casters but am used to melee types. Their wards and healing, and other players, suggest they can take on greater single target mobs than the zerker, in a war of attrition/siege kind of fight - but I just couldn't say that is the case. I couldn't say it isn't the case either, I just haven't managed to get to grip with my Paladin is all. On the whole, I find him a little dull.

My monk though, what with their greater avoidance, array of stuns/stifles/dazes and sheer damage output, they work the best against powerful single targets. The fact they have less AE action going on makes sense on balance.

for a soloer Id say a brawler for dmg. But I would still go for a zerk instead because they have ok dps with the added aa buckler reversal and such now they solo well. And you will always be first in line for a tanking roll unless a guard is lfg. Then later in the game if you see you want to be a full tank for raids or such you can use the new betrayal feature to switch from a zerk to a guardian for top of the line picking.

If you like to train and FD through zones to solo nameds .. then i would take Bruiser .. else SK. Besides the FD thing my SK can so the same or more damage then my Bruiser .. and can take much more damage because of his lifetaps.
