The trick is keeping your reactives going while under attack.
yeps that life tap thing is a [Removed for Content] for people trying to kill you. Sucking out there hp into u while your still beating on em. Of course your going to need good armor as well to lesson dmg intake. Over all you can kick the crap out of most classes.

T = Tier

T1 = 1-9, T2 = 10-19, T3 = 20-29, etc.

Zones and gear are all divvied up this way in the game. Antonica and Commonlands are T2 = content for roughly lvl 10-19, PvP engagement limited to +-4 levels. Thundering Steppes and Nektulos are T3 = content for lvl 20-29, PvP engagement is six levels, etc.

Common crafted gear for each tier has a level requirement of 10, 20, 30 ... Mastercrafted gear for each tier are 12, 22, 32, etc.

So, you will hear this "t3" stuff used to describe gear, PvE content, zones etc.

Make a new alt, preferably Scout class, get em off the island without questing etc. Go harvest in newbie zones until your bags are full. Then go to the tradeskill instance, and talk to the guy that gives the newbie crafting quests. (I'm not sure where the guy is on the Freep side anymore). Do those quests. He will give you all your newbie books for free, and some coin etc. and you will be lvl 9 artisan VERY quickly. Talk to the vendor just outside the tradeskill instance and tell him you want to be an OUTFITTER.

If your harvesting skills aren't up to at least 20, go back to the newbie zones and get them up. Then go to Antonica / Commonlands, and harvest until your bags are full. Focus on armor, but do EVERY recipe you have on the Forge / Tailoring station at least once for the bonus xp for your first Pristine whatever. You will level VERY quickly.

Make armor for your main.

Now you have to decide whether or not you will lock combat xp on your main, and work on your AAs and gear now, or just level past Tier 2, and focus on your equipment for Tier 3. There are LOTS of people who enjoy T2 PvP so much, they have super-maxxed out characters that are locked at those levels. Generally speaking these people will probably mop the floor with you, the unequipped n00b -- no offense, but you ARE new to the game. You can either play their game, and lock your xp and max yourself out, or just level past them and THEN start working on your toon more seriously. But if you don't do one or the other, get used to eating a lot of dirt.

so if you go with the outfitter...you can prob sell extra stuff on the broker... If you plan on getting anything else upgraded, ie your spells to adepts...then hopefully you can sell a lot of armor, or do what most new players are forced to do if they want to be able to match up with other players at lower levels...buy plat online(or if your on Vox, buy it through Sony) cuz prices are so jacked up it's almost impossible to gear yourself up on a new player's income without a higher level main... I half cry/half laugh when I see level 10 adepts on the broker for 5 plat...
