What made me think this was a good idea to post these here? Not certain exactly. Perhaps I'd like to share my odd sense of humor and little sparks of creativity ("temporary moments of insanity" is more like it). Maybe I thought someone needed a song for children to sing in their story. Or maybe I'm starting to go through withdrawal during my year break from the game.

Whatever the reason, here are my Norrath versions of two well known nursery rhymes. Feel free to use them if you'd like, or even add your own. It'd be a great relief to know that I'm not the only one that came up with something like this. I'm not...am I?

Pounce! Goes the Kerra! a Norrath version of Pop! Goes the Weasel!

All around the Lavastorm ground, The goblin chased the Kerra.

The goblin stopped to pick his nose, POUNCE! Goes the Kerra!

((Where'd this little ditty come from? When I was doing writs in Lavastorm I found that I did a lot of running from the heroic goblin patrols. I quickly learned the safe spots to run to without picking up any agro and eventually made a hotkey to say this in Golbin when one started chasing me. ... Seriously!))

                                                        *                      *                     *

The Citadel is Falling Down! a Norrath version of London Bridges

Oh! The Cit-a-del is falling down! Falling down! Falling down! The Cit-a-del is falling down! My Queen, my Lady!

Lucan's guards do flee away! Flee away! Flee away! Lucan's guards do flee away! My Queen, my Lady!

Qeynos ha-as won the day! Won the day! Won the day! Qeynos ha-as won the day! My Queen, my Lady!

((This was inspiried by a piece of MysticTrunks01's story, "Tales of Norrath." The first verse came out as soon as I started whistling the tune, then I couldn't stop putting in the rest. I can easily imagine seeing the children of his future singing this in a forest clearing.))

I'm glad these made some folks smile. Here's a third. This one was kinda slapped together as a result of my restless mind. The spacing is kinda goofed since the "Paste" tool doesn't work from this computer. Until I can get to another one where it does, this'll have to do.

Nillipuss a Norrath version of The Kookaburra

Nillipuss sneaks through Rivervale,

Naughty, naughty thief of those sweet hills.

Grin! Oh, Nillipuss, Grin!

Oh, Nillipuss what will you do today?

Nillipuss sits in a jumjum field,

Eating all the jumjum that he can steal.

"Stop!" the farmer shouts. "Stop!"

"Oh, Nillipus, you're such a bad brownie!"

Nillipuss flees through Rivervale,

Swinging through trees; running over hills!

Run! Oh, Nillipuss, Run!

Oh, Nillipuss, here comes the Deputy!

Enjoy!

MTFL (MainTankForLife) and I have a phrase we use when my 4 yr old daughter (SKGnome) does something especially endearing to get her way. We call it "Work(ing) the Cute." Serious is nice, but sometimes you just need to be able to make people smile & feel good about life.
