View Full Version : Betrayal without loss of spells?... Pretty please?

I don't think this will meet with popular approval but... here's my dilemma.

When I started playing EQ2, back at launch, I chose a dark elf for my character... but Freeport sucked. What can I say? It's just ugly. So, decided to betray to Qeynos...

Now, however many years later, the evils finally get a city that is trully gorgeous to live in -- but in order to get there would mean losing all of my masters (which means pretty much every single spell, except 3). Bummer?

So... pretty please, with as much sugar on top as you could possibly want, to the developers... Could you add a betrayal, or whatever you want to call it quest that would mean no spell loss, as long as you're not changing your class? Make it require 4 raids and 400 hours of slaughtering mobs if you must...

Please?

Only four raids???

Hahaha you know this will never happen just gotta suck it up and take the hit if you want to live there.

You know... there was a time not long ago where I would reply like these guys and say "no way in hell"... but the dev team has proven over and over that they aren't afraid to change things that they themselves have said wouldn't change. For instance, how many times have we heard over the years that epics would never be implemented in EQ2. But it's already been stated that epics will be coming with Kunark. So who knows now? Use enough pretty pleases and maybe it'll happen.

I would also like to see it changed, at least if you were betraying and staying the same class. So a character has leveled up and spent time/money and mastered his/her combat arts and spells. What happens? Did my character get amnesia and suddenly forget how to wield his sword when someone mentioned to choose his class after its all done?

I think if they stay the same class then there should be no loss of spell level, but if changing class then yes, it would be appropriate since they never learned the combat arts/spells prior.

I had friends on pvp servers that wanted to betray to the lesser poplulated city for more pvp, however after evaluating the marketplace and how much it would cost to restore their characters to their current state they decided against it.

Id recomend stacking up on non-replacable spells, like ancient teachings and spells above lvl 67 and betray when RoK comes. Most of your currently used spells will be replaced with a new tier so there will only be a few you will lose in the long run. It might be a bit harder getting to 80 without the collected amount of pre-tier masters, but should be doable.
