I recently rolled a brigand and noticed an interesting thing. I can actually use sneak while in combat. I then am able to use my "when sneaking" abilities. If in combat and I cast sneak, do I still auto attack? Will I stay in sneak mode forever or until I make my first attack? If I cast sneak and just stand there (not auto attacking), does the creature "see me" and is sneak removed? I am using a combination where I cast sneak and while it's casting queue up my "when sneaking" ability and it seems to work well but just wondering if I'm just getting lucky in the timing and especially with multiple mobs attacking, would I still be able to use this combo? Thanks!

Turn off autoattack. Hit sneak, Then initiate your stealth attack. Also you can queue the actions up. Hit sneak/Queue stealth attack for immediate action.

AFAIK, if you try to re-stealth in combat, auto-attack should unstealth you immediately, as well as the mobs beating on you.

Your Hideaway line will take you out of combat, reduce your threat position, & stealth you all at once, but it's best saved for when you actually draw aggro & have a tank to dump it on. It's pretty much worthless when soloing, but is amazingly useful when grouping.

The biggest difference between these two tactics, IMHO, is casting time; it takes a little longer to Stealth, then to Hideaway. This can affect your DPS, but shouldn't hurt your parse too much.

I guess I'm still confused. If I turn off auto attack, hit sneak, and then just stand there, will I remain stealthed or will the next critter attack unstealth me? Trying to understand if I had, for example, 6 things banging on me, could I actually restealth and pull off a stealth attack without being "unstealthed"

Thanks!
