Just started playing eq2 and i like pvp quite a bit. I rolled an SK, and i was wondering how they fair in pvp and in dps. Which would be a good way to spec to be effective in pvp? If SK's are weak in pvp and dps,..could i get a recommendation for a class that does well in pvp, dps, and is fun to play

also have they nerfed HT,..i was alittle scared by the post stating that HT did 127 dmg.

thanx for the help

SKs are well off in pvp. they have high survivability and a decent dps. Plus HT to stop runners and even the odds.

Most SK's do terrible in pvp, because they become one button zone huggers who don't really develop any pvp skills. An SK who doesn't rely on HT as much is usually a pretty decent pvper. Add reaver aa's to that and they can be pretty tough to beat.

If HT is down then the shadowknight is an average PvP class at best. Rarely have I ever met one less than orange conn as a Monk or Swashie that I couldn't burn down, though at lower levels especially (less decent resist gear there) it's something of a lottery going in on the attack if they have HT ready to go. Great for 1 fight every 15 mins.

Yes SKs are good for PVP, but honestly save HT for emergencies. IE you are getting beaten really bad, it is nice to have a heal (if you went down the reaver line) and the ability to do serious damage instantly. The weakness of SKs lies in semi-long casting times and reuse timers, almost all of their attacks are disease based, and only 2 knockback/stuns both on semi-long reuse timers (unless you use AA to get the AOE one aswell). This makes fighting Healers and Wizards hard because lack of stuns/no interrupts, other classes can interrupt you constantly.

As for whoever said you consistantly beat SKs with your Monk and Swash, that is no doubt, especially as swash is one of the most overpowered classes currently. Monks however are decently balanced.

Shadowknights are VERY gear dependent, but once you have the gear, and the spells, IF you play right and think smart, you are one of the tougher classes to kill. Don't worry about HT, you don't need it, I only use it for runners (Which unfortunately means it is always down) I would recommend focusing purely on INT and STA, and always fight in offensive stance. I highly recommend going down the Reaving line in your SK tree and next go down the Int line in your Crusader tree. Always keep a shield equipped for your shield bash, and put Infernal Blessing next to it. Use your shield bash before Infernal Blessing, this will give you 2 seconds to cast it. Also when you get in the high 20s, you will get a limited pet, your Tainted Sacrament. I recommend using your Spiked Boot before you cast it, giving you a little un-interrupted time to cast it.

Don't forget the Strength draining ability. Use it alot, especially on mages who become slightly immobile if they have a full bag.
