I just came back after 2 years, I have a 54 wizard, and a bunch of 19s-25s. I cant get the feeling Im powerful or Heroic. I have that feeling in other games like EQ1, Vanguard and wow. Vanguard I feel almost to powerful its just the servers are so barren and the item dupes ruined it for me.

this game is beautiful and I see alot of people but I just cant get that heroic feeling so If anyone has any advice for me Id appreciate it.

I think its the resists my roots and nukes seem like 50% resists. I know its not that bad but it feels like it. Im useing adepts 3s or masters and working on mobs 2-3 levels below me.

My Bard and Necro in EQ1 might have spoiled me.

Or get manaburn and 2shot heroics?

You leveled to 54 back when this game was no where as awesome as it is now with a difficult class, but now feel that it is hard?

Well WoW does a good job of making anyone feel heroic because it has easy mode classes like mages and huntards and basically it's an arcade game, but you may have to take your wizard back and look at his gear and such since the changes that have happened in this game. Also his AA's. And Vanguard...well....heh.

First, if you are having serious issues with resists, take another look at your important spells and make sure they are at the very least adept 1. For roots and the big nukes try for ad3 or master for fewer resists.

Also boosting disruption I believe helps with resists.

I can tell you the wizard in my guild certainly feels powerful lol. He'll often die doing it, but he dishes out some incredible damage between the spells, aa's and diety blessings/miracles he can pull out. He'll do one of his big things, then even while he's waiting for a rez announce just how big it was.

Finora is correct. As a wizard you are extremely powerful. When I take my wizard to Unrest or other EOF instanced zones he just absolutely decimates the named mobs we fight. On the Unrest Boss it's usually: -Icicles for debuff -Wait a couple seconds -Freehand plus Fusion (usually 15 to 20K of damage) -Wait for tank to reclaim agro -Ice Nova (8 to 12K usually) -Use manastone, and mana spells -Manaburn at 50% (30 to 45K) -See mob die. On some fights I occasionally break out Wrath of Ro which will do around 40K. That said, I'm also extremely vulnerable. Still, everyone in my group knows when I step to the plate.

I just created a Wizard on Antonia Bayle. I feel heroic when when I cast my AOE and I can one shot a group of mobs. That is an awesome feeling.

I agree with Finora as well. If you're spells are being resisted then they need to be upgraded.

Level 50 is about where I start buying all adept 3s for my toons, sooner if I can afford it.

If you examine a spell you'll see a new field that wasn't there 2 years ago. It's called Resistability.

Resistability is a measure of how easy, or hard, it is for your target to resist that spell.

The other thing is to not out-level your bank account. You can rush to 70 in a month, but you wont have a lot of plat to buy decent gear. At some time, you have to slow down and farm some plat to buy decent gear.

Basically, you should be upgrading your gear every 10 levels. On the 10's new handcrafted gear becomes useable. On the 2's (12,22,32, etc) new mastercrafted gear becomes available.

Awesome graphics!

Anyway yes, work on those spells and that gear! Wizards are sweet I have seen some in action and they really blow stuff up!

Try Bozidar's suggestion. PvP for a bit. You'll probably never look back. And if you do, try the Q side; we need a few heroes on our side.
