Just want to let those that doesn't know, that the 7.5% parry you gain from the AA ability Weapon Mastery can't be improved with items.

Apparently we get 7.5% parry, but not the parry skill.

that is correct. you get a base chance of 7.5% to parry a melee attack.

Similar to the adornment that gives a 2% increase to parry.

Since this ability isn't based off the Parry skill it doesn't get mitigated by the mobs level.

So a lvl 10 mob will be parried 7.5% of the time, and a lvl 80 Mob will be parried 7.5% of the time.

Though I haven't tried it. Does the Parry adornments stack with the Mystic parry so it can go up to 11.5%?

I would assume so but I'ld like confirmation on this if anyone has attempted.

Oh? I didn't know that the adornment was the same as our parry. I assumed that it would do no good at all, since we had no parry skill to increase. I would love to hear if someone has done the testing to know the answer. Inquiring minds want to know!

I haven't tried the specific adornment. But ordinary items that will increase parry skill does not increase it for Mystics.

Aye, that is true SonnyA.

The wrist Adornments on the other hand are not Skill based. In fact they are exactly the same in fuction as the Mystic 7.5% parry.

I have read many posts about the 2.0% chance to parry adornments being unconnected to the Parry Skill. In the same vein, even though a Mystic has a 7.5% parry they do not have that skill listed on their Personna Window Skills tab.

For players that use skill as the bases for their parry chance when they reach the their regular cap they will always nominallize to 5%. It's only when they go over their regular cap that it goes over 5%. A mob's Combat skill (and in extention their level) is the antithesis of parry and the other combat defensive skills. The higher they level (or combat skill buffs that take them over their combative level) the less effective the parry skill is. So A level 70 Guardian fighting a lvl 75 mob who only has a parry skill of 350 will have almost no chance at a parry if any. You can test this by taking any low level character with Parry (or any Defensive Skill) and leveling them up with out them ever taking a hit. Soon you will see that their parry skill is now 0%.

The Wrist Adornments (and the slashing adornment which is irrelivant to this class forum) on the other hand, do not rely on skill as it's bases.

If you were to take that same character who's parry skill is 5 level or more lower then their actual level and adorn him with these items then regardless as to his true parry skill his parry will then be a flat chance 2% or 4%.

Your Parry chance can never go below 0% so for these adornments, 0% is where they start off.

So any class with these adornments will then have a parry skill. Mage, Priest or who ever.

The question is, does the Mystic AA ability stack with these adornments or do they ignore each other's existance and overlap.

Logically they should stack since they seem to encroach on each other's formulatic territory. But you can never truely tell until you've tested it. One day I will once I get my Mystic to lvl 70 but until then I'm curious as to the answer to this problem.
