I created an arasai (with green hair) to check them out and noticed when I got in game my hair was completely the wrong color, red! On my character screen it still showed up green, so I remade him using the file I saved. Logged in... this time his hair was blue! Relogged and his hair is still the same shade of blue, though green in the character screen.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there any information about it? Since the character's hair color is still correct on the login, I hope it's something SoE can revert in a fix soon. So in the meantime, should I keep playing him?

I don't think it would hurt if you kept playing him until a fix is presented.

Are you sure you didn't tick the "Mood Hair" box?

One base color and one light reflection color, so when you are in a dark area, your hair has one color, if you are in alight area, it can have another.

Actually, I asked a dev about this when it was on Test, because I experienced the same thing. He said it has something to do with graphics settings and the way it uses colors. If you're running balanced or lower, it can cause the hair to appear different in game than when you made it. So, like me, I guess you'll have to play with until it comes out correctly if you have to use lower settings.

Alright, thanks for the answers so far.

I'm running on 'Maximum Performance,' but I've been tweaking settings with reflections, specular lighting, etc (pretty much all of them) and I haven't seen a difference. Last I knew, 'Balanced' and such didn't actually reflect inherent settings, they are just presets. Perhaps I'll crank it up though and see if that actually fixes it.

I still don't understand why my hair is a very saturated RED, when the hair colors I selected are black & green. except that I have mood hair selected XD

EDIT: I just figured it out, booyah! It's a combination of having specular lighting checked, and having your complex shader distance >0. Even if you have a crappy card, you only need to set it to about 30 to have it visible from max camera distance.
