There's something I'm trying to figure out about Deathtoll.

<p>My guild finally just entered into it for the first time earlier this month. A more experienced player alerted us about the huge Flame Wall shortly in that can only be disengaged by someone who has a special flame-resistant shield.</p><p>Now, he also said that said shield only drops at the very end of the zone...</p><p>So how did someone ever manage to get past the flame trap in the first place when nobody had the shield? The only way to get the shield is to disarm a trap that can only be disarmed with the shield.</p>

He's just screwing with you.  When you got your Amulet for DT access you should have gotten another quest from Nagafen that tells you to go to Deathtoll.  You go Zone in to DT and trigger the flame trap.  The quest updates and sends you back to Nagafen (also you won't have set a lockout timer at all by this point).  Nagafen will then give you a scale to take to his armorer (the guy you get relic from) and he makes you the shield.
