View Full Version : 58 Hours Remaining -- Trace included ... help?

Patching has been a real problem since we left Comcast and now are saddled with a regional ISP (Metrocast, we're located in NH), but I'm not sure the following trace is the fault of our ISP ... the current update looks like it'll take days to download. Here's the trace:

Now the PL may be because those servers are blocking pings ... I traced to everquest2.com. Should I be tracing elsewhere to try to pinpoint the issue?

Ditto here on the Metrocast issues. Individual files regularly take hours to download. Makes me dread patch days.

Have your tried replacing your DNS servers? I'd try MCI's, I use them on my comcast connection fastest DNS i know of. 199.249.18.1 199.249.19.1 199.249.18.2 199.249.19.2

Gave it a shot, still no chance. Anywhere from 5-68 hours to finish this patch.
From this link http://everquest2.station.sony.com/en/install/ getting 4-6/kbs download speeds. This is sadly typical of Metrocast and most downloads I have with them (even during LoTRO beta with servers in Mass. I still had the same issues.) Of course nothing is wrong on their end. /sigh
