Hello guys, I can barely play 4 minutes of EQ2 until my laptop shuts down. It's obviously a overheating problem, since the computer is hot as hell. Thing is everything is at it's lowest setting, but it still overheats. Is there anything I can do software wise to fix this? EQ1 had a nice program called EQPlayNice, which helped me alot back then. Anyone?

Depends on many factors a) where is your intake/outlet fan on the laptop (make sure its not blocked) b) Does this happen with all games in full 3d? If so its a  hardware issue c) Are the fans working?

I had a similar problem (video chip appeared to reset when hot).  I was sitting in a chair with the notebook in my lap when it happened (often).  I found that getting some air underneath solved it.  Some notebooks have legs that flip out.   I would recommend trying that.

I play on a laptop myself and I find that as long as I have sufficient air flow, I don't have the problem.  For some reason my system will shut itself off when I am on the character select screen for too long because it over heats..  no clue why the character select screen would do it.

There's really no good way to fix this, other than lifting the computer up and let air flow underneath it. There are a few hardware bits that can help: <a href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Description=laptop+cooler&x=0&y=0" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...amp;x=0&y=0</a>
